Role Description The Compliance Attorney position is a full-time, remote-based opportunity that offers flexibility along with the comfort of working in your own workspace. With this being a salary-based position, billable hours are non-existent, and you will have zero direct interaction with customers. As a regulator compliance company for third-party, F&I contracts in the auto finance space, the Compliance Attorney holds a key role by: - Reviewing contracts sold to consumers related to vehicle maintenance, service, protection, and waiver products at the request of financial lenders. - Determining whether to approve or reject submissions based on lender requirements, federal and state regulations, and consumer protection. - Identifying system and process efficiency improvements. - Remaining proactive in communicating with fellow Compliance Analysts/Attorneys and Supervisors. Specifically, the Compliance Attorney will have responsibility to: - Perform contract review for compliance with lender business requirements, federal and state regulations, and consumer protection. - Collaborate with fellow Credentialing Attorneys/Analysts and Product Supervisors on managing new or novel contracts or components in contract submissions. - Become a subject matter expert on Finance and Insurance (F&I) products in the automotive industry. - Support Client Success team members with customer requests/inquiries related to contract reviews. - Create, maintain, and update intra-departmental operational efficiencies (e.g., systems, processes, etc.) as necessary; proactively recommend changes or new templates based on company needs. - Other duties as assigned. Role Description Workers Compensation Defense Attorney needed for in-house litigation position, working under the direction of the General Counsel. This position will work defending litigated Workers’ Compensation claims before hearing locations, primarily in and surrounding the Virginia area. - Conduct research where necessary. - Examine records and conduct investigations. - Attend depositions and consult with witnesses, insured(s), legal assistants, and/or personnel. - Participate in negotiations on behalf of the Company, including settlements. - Provide leadership and expertise on major company projects as necessary. This position will provide state-specific legal representation before courts, arbitration panels, and/or administrative bodies. - Serve in an advisory capacity to the company and employees. - Prepare legal pleadings, motions, memorandums, trial briefs, etc. - Prepare appeals and perform necessary research. Responsibilities/Tasks - Responsible for applying legal principles, knowledge, and skills based on experience. - Evaluates and selects appropriate legal techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in solving legal issues. - Drafts and/or dictates legal correspondence and memorandums and works with minimal supervision on all assigned matters. - Conducts legal research and offers timely legal opinions and advice upon reasonable demand. - Provides objective assessment of risk areas. - Works on special projects as assigned. Qualifications - A Juris Doctor Degree and admission to the bar (in good standing) in employed state(s) required. - Continuous learning, as defined by the Company’s learning philosophy, is required. - A minimum of four (4) years of legal experience, with two years of experience in the insurance industry preferred. Pay Range Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate’s skills and professional experience, geographic location, market, and other potential factors. It is not standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $121,500 and $203,400.
