Project Manager, Mining
AECOM
• Overall management and administration of projects, including establishing project-specific objectives and policies. • Lead and provide guidance to subordinate managers and technical staff, ensuring adherence to company standards and project policies. • Serve as the primary liaison between AECOM and client stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction. • Oversee all facets of projects from budgeting and scheduling through procurement, contract management, and closeout. • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and quality to achieve successful delivery. • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely resolution of technical, contractual, and commercial issues. • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, promoting collaboration among engineering, design, environmental, and construction disciplines. • Conduct regular project status meetings and prepare comprehensive reports for clients and internal leadership. • Drive business development by identifying new opportunities, participating in proposal development, and fostering client relationships. • Mentor, develop, and manage project management staff to cultivate a high-performing, skilled team. • Ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations and AECOM’s internal quality assurance and safety standards. • Manage financial aspects of projects including forecasting, invoicing, profit and loss responsibility, and budget controls.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in project management within the infrastructure, construction engineering, or related sectors.
- Proven track record managing medium to large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects successfully.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Excellent client-facing abilities with demonstrated experience in relationship building and stakeholder management.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, contracts, procurement, budgeting, scheduling, and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to manage multi-tasking projects independently while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with local state, and federal regulations related to infrastructure and construction projects.
- Experience in negotiating contracts, managing risk, and resolving project claims and disputes.
- Proficient in project management software, MS Office Suite, and relevant engineering/design tools.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
