Genomic Specialist

Role Description The Genomic Specialist (GS) is the front line of Veracyte’s customer interaction. The GS identifies and closes new business while maintaining and growing existing business. The GS’s primary focus is to clinically reinforce the value of our diagnostic tests (Afirma plus Xpression Atlas) with new and existing customers to support implementation of routine collection and ordering protocols and procedures. This position is covering the territory of Nashville, TN. - Become fluent in the clinical messaging, sample collection, ordering and shipping protocols, and reimbursement and coverage messaging related to our genomic diagnostic products. - Reinforce the value proposition of our genomic diagnostic products to our customers in a way that aligns with their health system and/or clinical practice goals of high-quality patient care. - Navigate complex health systems to reinforce our value proposition with all key stakeholders that impact the use of our products, and prospect for business growth opportunities within and across product lines. - Take accountability and ownership of your accounts by developing strong and long-term relationships with clinical customers and medical staff such that you are viewed as a valued resource to the customer. - Analyze territory data to develop strategic plans and execute daily. - Establish clear and repeatable protocols within accounts for the collection and ordering of our genomic diagnostic products including guiding the clinical patient selection criteria, sample logistics and other hospital facility and medical staff processes as necessary. - Develop clear and actionable territory plans to exceed territory goals. - Work collaboratively with internal teammates to maintain and grow business across our testing portfolio. - Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Veracyte activities. - Business travel, by air or car, is regularly required. Overnights will be required. Qualifications - Five to eight years in medical diagnostics, medical device, or biopharmaceuticals. - A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. Science-based degrees in biology, chemistry or equivalent area is preferred. Requirements - Proven track record of successfully calling on complex health systems, IDNs, and Academic institutions with multi-key influencers. - Identify new opportunities to navigate through a complicated sales cycle resulting in new genomic test volume. - Aptitude to sell clinically in-person or virtually in an office or hospital environment. - History of maintaining and growing existing customer base in a large geography. - Experience managing multiple accounts and products. - Capacity to totally immerse into an account to assess stability and growth opportunity. - Ideally have sold and functioned in procedure environment. - Strong time management skills: effectively managing one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently. - High business acumen: ability to prioritize and adapt to evolving business needs. - Collaborative team player: works cooperatively with others to help a team achieve its goals, proactively reaches out to partners, communicates and aligns on goals, priorities and roles & responsibilities, follows up and courageously communicates and triages issues as they arise. - Strong communication skills: written, oral and presentation. Has an attention to detail. - Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of daily actions.
