Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing
Role Description This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing. The duty station for this position will be the U.S. city and state of the approved remote work location, which is often an employee's home. As a Program Manager (Business Area Director), you will: - Develop metrics, perform risk assessments, and establish risk mitigation and management plans. - Establish guidelines for day-to-day operations in the assigned program area. - Manage a staff of technical and/or administrative personnel, including contractors, to accomplish work objectives. - Serve as business area manager and technical expert on matters concerning the business area. Qualifications - You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. - Specialized Experience for the GS-15 includes: - Coordinating technology implementation activities aimed at modernizing business functions. - Establishing management controls and metrics to assess progress of programs or projects managed. - Developing, managing, and securing approval for a program budget. - Reporting program results and presenting a program for review and approval before decision makers and stakeholders. - The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector, or volunteer service. - One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. - To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Requirements - Time-in-Grade: For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks. - Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
