• Set Android-rooted mobile-system direction: Define the technical direction for Android and the mobile-facing systems that make AlphaSense experiences fast, reliable, secure, and easier to evolve across teams. • Lead through hands-on Android system design: Turn complex mobile-system problems into durable production architecture grounded in deep Android expertise. • Scale reliability and execution practices: Shape how mobile work is designed, reviewed, tested, shipped, and operated across initiatives, including the automation, observability, rollout practices, and AI-enabled validation needed to move quickly with confidence. • Create durable mobile-facing system contracts: Help teams define the boundaries, ownership, and operating expectations that let mobile-facing systems evolve without pushing hidden complexity into native clients. • Raise mobile-system judgment across teams: Turn complex mobile-system work into reusable standards and stronger engineering judgment for the teams building native experiences.
Job Requirements
- Deep expertise in modern production Android architecture, with a track record of setting technical standards beyond one feature team.
- Ability to represent mobile platform principles from a deep Android base, with enough iOS fluency to shape cross-functional architecture decisions where backend, web, and product choices affect identity, reliability, release quality, observability, and native product outcomes.
- Experience shaping mobile-facing platform contracts or backend service boundaries that improve product quality across native and adjacent client surfaces.
- Ability to read, debug, and contribute to backend systems when needed to unblock mobile-facing outcomes.
- Experience shaping AI-enabled engineering systems that improve validation, product quality, and delivery confidence across teams.
- Strong reliability and release-quality judgment across production mobile systems, with experience raising quality standards across multiple initiatives.
- Track record making engineers around you better by turning complex mobile-system work into clear standards, reusable patterns, and stronger technical judgment across teams.
- Excellent product judgment and communication skills, including the ability to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes and align teams around durable technical decisions.
- Experience building Android product experiences across varied device and form-factor contexts, such as foldables, wearables, Android Auto, or other platform-native surfaces.
