Role Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and financial close process. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will play a critical leadership role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic growth initiatives. What You'll Do - Financial Reporting & Close Management - Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. - Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. - Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and supporting reconciliations. - Develop and maintain executive-level financial reporting packages and dashboards for leadership. - Partner with the CFO to provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations. - Accounting Operations - Oversee all core accounting functions, including: - Accounts Payable - Accounts Receivable - Payroll - Fixed Assets - General Ledger Accounting - Cash and Treasury Support - Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and the chart of accounts. - Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. - Internal Controls & Compliance - Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls and accounting processes. - Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary owner of audit preparation activities. - Prepare audit schedules, support requests, and coordinate with external auditors. - Manage federal, state, and local tax compliance processes in partnership with external tax advisors. - Systems, Automation & Process Improvement - Lead accounting transformation initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, and scalability. - Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes. - Support implementation and optimization of ERP systems, close management tools, reporting solutions, and AP automation platforms. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the accounting function. - Planning & Strategic Support - Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. - Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to leadership. - Assist with acquisition integrations and accounting process standardization as the company continues to grow. - Team Leadership - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, including international accounting staff and outsourced accounting resources. - Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures. - Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture focused on professional development and operational excellence. - Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and developing future accounting talent. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - 6+ years of progressive accounting experience. - 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing accounting teams. - Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation. - Experience managing month-end close processes for multi-entity or multi-location organizations. - Proven ability to implement and improve accounting processes and internal controls. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities. - Experience working in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments. Preferred Experience - CPA designation strongly preferred. - Public accounting experience, particularly with a Big Four or national accounting firm. - Experience in restaurant, retail, hospitality, franchise, or other multi-unit operating environments. - Experience with acquisitions, integrations, and scaling finance functions. - Experience with Sage Intacct or similar cloud-based ERP systems. - Experience with AP automation, close management, reconciliation, and financial reporting tools. - Knowledge of POS systems and back-office platforms commonly used in multi-location businesses.
