Job Description

Implementation Consultant

BusPlanner

Role Description BusPlanner is building a world-class Projects practice, and we are looking for driven, talented, and passionate Implementation Consultants to join our journey. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a growing team as we strive to make a positive impact in the world of school bus transportation. What you will do: - Lead end-to-end client onboarding projects, building and managing detailed project timelines to ensure a smooth and transparent implementation journey. - Deliver clear, proactive, and client-friendly communication at every stage, and coordinate across Technical Solutions, GIS, and Development teams to keep deliverables, dependencies, and milestones aligned. - Own and execute data migration workflows—cleansing, validating, transforming, and importing client data using Excel and AI-powered tools to drive accuracy and efficiency. - Conduct product training and presentations for transportation directors, route planners, and other stakeholders, both online and in-person (must be able to travel). - Become a trusted industry and product expert who guides clients through change management, and continuously explore AI tools and automation to streamline processes and improve data quality. What success in this role looks like: - Your clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the entire implementation journey - no surprises, no confusion. - Data migrations are executed accurately and on time, with minimal back-and-forth or rework. - Cross-functional teams enjoy working with you because you keep projects organized and communication clear. - Clients go live feeling excited about using BusPlanner. - You actively contribute ideas that make the implementation process better for the next client. You’ll likely do well in this role if you: - Like owning outcomes, not waiting for direction. - Enjoy turning messy information into structured plans. - Communicate early, clearly, and often rather than hoping problems fix themselves. - Care about client experience as much as technical accuracy. - Naturally look for ways to make the next project easier than the last. This probably isn’t the right fit if you: - Prefer narrowly defined tasks instead of end-to-end ownership. - Dislike ambiguity or need every answer before starting. - Want minimal client interaction. - Feel drained by explaining the same concept in different ways to different audiences. - Focus only on finishing your work rather than improving the process. - Are uncomfortable balancing multiple projects at once. Qualifications - Prior experience in software implementations, client onboarding, or similar project management roles (bonus points for familiarity with public sector clients). - Strong project management and problem-solving skills in cross-functional settings. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills—you can make the complex feel simple. - Comfort working with data in Excel and an eagerness to leverage AI tools in your day-to-day work. - Passion for customer experience and helping your clients succeed.
