Role Description We are looking for a Risk Manager - AI & Automation who will drive the intersection of risk intelligence and technology across TSI SCI and Res-Q. In this role, you will own defect elimination outcomes by leveraging AI-powered products and automation tools. - Identify systemic abuse patterns. - Translate investigator insights into model improvement requirements. - Measure whether our technology investments actually reduce defect rates and reduce human investigation hours. - Partner with engineering, science, and operations teams to launch and optimize ML-based detection systems and automation workflows for risk reduction. - Own root cause and preventive action (RC/PA) for automation-driven defect elimination. - Analyze ML model outputs to identify misclassification patterns. - Reduce seller defect rates and improve investigator efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to shape how Amazon protects seller and customer trust by combining risk reduction expertise with technology execution. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent. - 5+ years of program or project management experience. - 3+ years of experience working directly with engineering/science teams on product/feature launches. - 2+ years of experience in risk management, trust, fraud prevention, or marketplace integrity domains. - Experience managing cross-functional programs across technical and non-technical teams. - Experience writing technical requirements, specifications, and design documents. - Proficiency with SQL and understanding of data pipelines and data-driven decision making. - Experience with defect analysis, root cause investigation, or process improvement in an operational setting. Requirements - Own end-to-end defect elimination outcomes for AI and automation initiatives. - Drive cross-functional alignment across Risk Managers, Operations, Science, Legal, and Policy stakeholders. - Build and manage program roadmaps for automation launches. - Conduct defect pattern analysis using ML model outputs. - Partner with science teams on ML model performance reviews. - Translate investigator feedback into actionable model improvement requirements. - Own root cause / preventive action (RC/PA) for automation-related defects. - Lead escalation triage for automation-impacted workflows. - Conduct deep dives into escalation triage data, API integrations, and system gaps. - Define and instrument success metrics to measure automation coverage. - Prepare and present program updates, launch readiness reviews, and defect elimination impact assessments to senior leadership. Reporting to the Director Operational risk, the Operational Risk Analyst supports the Second line of Defense risk management department in accordance with US regulations, bank policies and industry practices for Risk Management. This role assesses, identifies, controls, manages, and mitigates risks to operational processes and additional operational categories that could impede strategic, reputational, security, or financial success of the bank. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting execution of the various Operational Risk programs across multiple businesses and functions of the bank. This role requires a self-starter that can liaise with stakeholders across business units and support functions in the bank. Familiarity with the concepts of operational risk, the bank's process flows, and control environment, combined with solid interpersonal and analytical skills are necessary for this role.
