Role Description The Director of Business Operations provides strategic business leadership and cross-functional coordination in support of the growth, development, implementation, and performance of the Occupational Health Services business line. Reporting to the Vice President & Business Line Lead, the Director works across: - Business development - Capture - Pricing - Exam operations - Provider network operations - Clinical leadership - Technology - Finance - Contracts - Compliance - Quality The role supports: - Pipeline development - Opportunity qualification - Capture - Proposal development - Pricing - Implementation planning - Technology enablement - Performance analysis - Recompetes - On contract growth - Customer expansion All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles, and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, operations management, public health, health services, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. - Fifteen (15) or more years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, business operations, occupational health, government contracting, implementation, business development support, or a related field. - Ten (10) or more years of progressive leadership/management experience in healthcare operations, business operations, occupational health, government contracting, implementation, business development support, or a related field. - Experience supporting federal government healthcare contracts and competitive procurements. - Experience with occupational health, workforce health, medical surveillance, or related healthcare service-delivery programs. - Experience supporting one or more of the following: capture, proposal development, pricing, implementation, or business-line planning. - Demonstrated ability to translate customer, contractual, clinical, and business requirements into operational solutions, workflows, proposals, implementation strategies, or technology requirements. - Experience collaborating across exam operations, clinical, provider network, financial, technical, quality, compliance, and business-development functions. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills. - Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and coordinate outcomes within a matrixed organization. - Ability to manage multiple priorities, proposals, implementations, deadlines, and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment. - Working knowledge of applicable occupational health and healthcare requirements, including OSHA, DOT, HHS/SAMHSA, HIPAA, credentialing, and clinical quality standards. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business, reporting, and project-management tools. - Ability to travel based on business requirements. Requirements - Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public health, operations management, or a related field (preferred). - Knowledge of federal acquisition processes, government contract structures, capture, proposal development, and pricing practices (preferred). - Experience with healthcare pricing, provider reimbursement, staffing models, operational cost development, and margin considerations (preferred). - Experience supporting national provider networks or geographically dispersed healthcare-delivery models (preferred). - Experience implementing or optimizing healthcare technology solutions, such as electronic medical record, case-management, scheduling, contact-center, provider-management, portal, integration, or reporting platforms (preferred). - Project Management Professional, Lean Six Sigma, or a similar professional certification (preferred). Reporting to the VP of Clinical Operations, this individual will serve as a key business partner across Clinical Operations, Clinical Data Management, and Biometrics to drive operational excellence, financial oversight, and portfolio execution. The Associate Director will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of vendor outsourcing, from strategic selection through contract execution, active change order management, and financial oversight. This role is ideal for an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing hands-on clinical contracting with long-range financial modeling and planning. Key Responsibilities - Partner with clinical operations, data management, and biometrics teams to author Request for Proposals (RFPs) and define vendor scopes of work. - Lead cross-functional bid defense meetings, analyze commercial proposals, perform cost benchmarking, and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership. - Drive the strategic selection of CROs and specialized clinical vendors, optimizing the vendor portfolio for quality, scalability, and cost-efficiency. - Partner with Legal and the clinical development team in the drafting, negotiation, and final execution of Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Change Orders and confidentiality agreements across clinical functions. - Design, author, and standardize SOW templates to streamline vendor onboarding, establish baseline metrics, and reduce execution cycle times. - Manage the negotiation and execution of Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs) and investigator budgets for sponsor-managed sites, ensuring rapid study startup. - Manage an active change order management pipeline to rigorously track contract amendments, budget shifts, and vendor performance. - Partner closely with study teams to proactively identify operational deviations from the original SOW, mitigating scope creep before it impacts the budget. - Liaise between Clinical Operations and Corporate Finance to ensure financial alignment across all programs. - Partner with the Head of Clinical Operations to build robust, multi-year clinical trial budget forecasts, lifecycle cost models, and annual operational plans. - Support quarterly Budget vs. Actual (BVA) reviews; track investigator grant accruals and vendor pass-through costs, and accurately explain financial variances to leadership. - Identify operational gaps and implement scalable business processes, tools, templates, and governance mechanisms to improve efficiency, transparency, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. - Support due diligence, alliance management, and business development activities as needed. - Champion a culture of accountability, operational rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the Clinical organization.
