Principal Analytics Consultant, Tableau

• Deliver on project-based consulting engagements and help clients develop analytical requirements through prototyping and visualization. • Manage client expectations by leading weekly status reports, facilitating working sessions, and proactively soliciting feedback to keep engagements aligned and moving forward. • Create, publish, and optimize Tableau reports, dashboards, and workbooks; diagnose visual and data issues; and recommend improvements to datasets, extracts, and visuals to improve usability and performance. • Analyze, troubleshoot, and tune product performance or deployment issues when required, and implement durable fixes when problems arise. • Support backlog management and development activities across client engagements. • Identify and recommend functionality and solutions to meet and enhance user requirements. • Recommend best practices to optimize data models, dashboards, platform architecture, and Tableau environment performance. • Own the development of the technical project approach, help manage the backlog or project plan, and execute on a focused set of high-value tasks within team engagements. • Own the long-term vision around analytics strategy and tool selection, provide escalation support, and contribute to phData’s broader analytics community through mentorship and thought partnership. • Mentor junior consultants and help raise the bar on performance, utilization, and project delivery across the team.

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience and/or demonstrated expertise in data analytics and data visualization platforms in an enterprise environment.
  • 3+ years of external consulting experience.
  • Expertise in Tableau development, data visualization, and data modeling in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data fluency and communicating effectively with business users and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong SQL experience leveraging data warehouses, data marts, and/or data models, ideally in Snowflake environments.
  • Exceptional customer-facing skills, including strong communication and project management capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for learning and mastering new technologies, techniques, and procedures.
