Network Construction Manager
Zayo Group
• Manages all facets of the OSP project - deliver on time, on budget, within quality and safety standards. • Resolves OSP roadblocks. • Tracks, reports and communicates OSP project progress. • Provides early communication on potential due date, interval, and/or budget slips to the OSP functional leadership. • Participates in project meetings and effectively support the overall project effort. • Supports customer meetings as necessary. • Develops high-level OSP schedule for each opportunity during proposal and service order generation stages (pre-sale). • Develops detailed baseline OSP schedule upon project kickoff (using standardized OSP tracker), and maintain this schedule throughout the course of the project. • Updates the project tracker as often as required, but no less than once per week. • Manages OSP RFP/bidding/award in compliance with company procurement policy. • Reviews and approves OSP contractor invoices in a timely manner. • Completes and closes-out all assigned ISO tasks in a timely manner. • Provides as-built drawings to Fiber Engineering upon completion of construction for each segment.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ managerial experience
- Must be conversant/have working knowledge of structured cabling, routing, switching, and IP protocols.
- Must have four (4) years familiarity with all types of outside plant construction and experience managing large capital projects.
- Must be able to manage multiple aggressive RFP and design construction schedules and responses.
- Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Must have the ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
