Role Description Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Scribe Virtual Assistant to support healthcare documentation and records management processes. This role is primarily responsible for accurately entering handwritten patient notes into an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, maintaining patient records, and ensuring documentation is completed efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate has prior healthcare or medical documentation experience, is comfortable working with EHR systems, and can manage a high volume of patient notes while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and compliance with patient privacy and confidentiality standards. Schedule: - Part-Time (20 hours per week) - Working Days: Monday to Friday - Working Hours: Flexible within 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM PDT Compensation: - $5.00 – $6.00 per hour - Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities - Enter handwritten patient notes into the JerryMed EHR system accurately and efficiently. - Transcribe and document patient information with a high level of accuracy. - Update and maintain patient charts and medical records. - Process and organize approximately 700+ patient notes per month. - Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and entered in a timely manner. - Manage note workflows from three different healthcare facilities. - Organize digital files and patient documentation. - Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards. - Assist with general administrative tasks as needed. - Support additional note entry and documentation projects when workload allows. - Communicate effectively regarding missing information or documentation discrepancies. - Help streamline record-keeping and administrative processes to improve efficiency. Qualifications - Experience working in healthcare, medical offices, or clinical settings. - Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. - Reliable, dependable, and consistent in meeting deadlines. - Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality requirements. - Excellent written communication skills. - Adaptable and comfortable working with flexible workflows and processes. - Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving. - Ability to handle repetitive tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy. - Comfortable managing large volumes of documentation and patient notes. - Professional, trustworthy, and responsive to feedback. - Quick learner who can adapt to new systems and procedures. Nice-to-Have Qualifications - Medical Scribe, Nursing, Medical Assistant, or Healthcare Administration background. - Experience transcribing handwritten medical notes. - Previous experience with chart management and medical documentation. - Familiarity with JerryMed or similar EHR platforms. Deal Breakers - No healthcare, medical documentation, patient records, charting, or EHR/EMR experience. - Poor attention to detail or a history of frequent data entry errors. - Inability to maintain HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, and professionalism. - Difficulty working independently or requiring constant supervision. - Poor communication skills, especially when clarifying documentation issues. - Unreliable attendance, inconsistent availability, or a history of missed deadlines. - Inability to manage repetitive, high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy. - Resistance to learning new systems or adapting to established workflows. - Poor organization or time management skills that may impact documentation completion. - Concerns regarding integrity, trustworthiness, or handling confidential healthcare information. Basic Requirements - Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly. - Must have relevant work experience. - Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding (mandatory). - Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed).
