Role Description We are looking for a Grant Writer to join our team and lead our efforts in securing funding to help our organization operate throughout the year. A Grant Writer’s responsibilities include: - Researching grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funding sources that align with paws4people's mission. - Writing compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications to secure financial support for service dog training and placement programs. - Developing persuasive narratives that communicate the impact of service dogs on individuals with disabilities, veterans, and other populations served. - Collaborating with program staff to gather data, budgets, success stories, and outcomes needed for grant applications and reports. - Maintaining a grants calendar to track deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities within the paws4people grant database. - Monitoring grant-funded projects and tracking outcomes to support reporting and future funding requests. - Maintaining accurate records of grant submissions, awards, denials, and funder communications. - Preparing and submitting timely grant reports, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and organizational standards. - Staying informed about trends, regulations, and best practices in nonprofit grant writing and fundraising growth and sustainability. - Working with leadership to develop program budgets and funding requests that support organizational growth. Qualifications - Proven work experience as a Grant Writer or similar role. - Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals. - Great with MS Office Word and Excel/Google. - Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources. - Exceptional organizational and writing skills. - Bachelor’s degree.
