We are backed by incredible investors, including Scale Venture Partners, Northzone, Sound Ventures, and Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel. If you thrive when the stakes are high and the path isn't paved, you'll love it here. Our six guiding principles are: 1% better every day, customer obsession, ship today, find a way, care deeply, and own it completely. Come shape the future of legal work with us. About the RoleYou'll be one of GC AI's first Forward Deployed Engineers, which means you'll help define the function. You'll embed directly with customers to help them integrate GC AI into the workflows where legal work actually happens: contract review during procurement, compliance checks in vendor onboarding, automatic redlining before a deal goes out the door. The work looks different every week. One customer might need a production integration that routes inbound contracts through GC AI before they hit the legal team's queue. Another might need a workflow that flags non-standard terms across hundreds of vendor agreements. You'll spend your time understanding how these organizations operate, writing code, building integrations, debugging issues, and getting customers to production. You'll also help shape the platform itself. As you work across deployments, you'll spot patterns, friction points, and missing capabilities that no one inside the building can see. You'll bring those insights back to Product and Engineering, and early on, you may build some of those improvements yourself. This is a founding role. You'll have the ownership and ambiguity of an early-stage company, and you'll be building the playbook for how GC AI deploys with customers, not following one someone else wrote. What You'll Do - Work directly with customers to understand their legal and business workflows, systems, and technical requirements. - Design and build integrations using the GC AI API, from prototype through production deployment. - Help customers deploy GC AI into critical business processes, including contract review, procurement, vendor management, and compliance. - Troubleshoot and debug customer integrations in real time. - Identify repeatable deployment patterns and contribute them back to Product and Engineering as reusable platform capabilities. - Create reference implementations, documentation, and best practices that help future customers move faster. - Travel to customer sites as needed (up to 25%). What We Value - High agency. You operate autonomously, figure things out without a roadmap, and thrive when the path isn't clear. - High cooperation. You work well across teams of technical and non-technical people, balancing competing priorities without losing momentum. - Product instinct. You can tell the difference between a one-off customer request and a pattern that should become a platform feature. - Solving real problems, not building demos. You care about whether the integration actually works in production on Monday morning, not whether the architecture diagram looks elegant. What We Require - 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software. - Experience working directly with customers, users, or stakeholders to design and deliver technical solutions (FDE, solutions engineering, consulting, or technical founder backgrounds all count). - Strong programming skills in TypeScript or Python and ideally one or more additional languages. - Hands-on experience with APIs, integrations, webhooks, or platform products. - Ability to lead technical projects with a high degree of ownership and ambiguity. - Clear communication of technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Nice to Have - Experience building workflow automation systems. - Experience working on APIs, SDKs, or developer platforms. - Experience with AI products or LLM-powered applications. - Experience in legal technology, compliance, procurement, or enterprise software. - Startup experience. - Experience designing systems that connect multiple products, services, or internal tools. Why Join GC AIWe're building products that help legal teams move faster and have greater impact across their organizations. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with customers, influence the product roadmap, and help define an entirely new category of software. As one of the first people in this role, you'll play a significant part in shaping both the platform and the team that builds it. Location PolicyThis is a remote role unless you fall within the following parameters. If you live within approximately 50 miles of our San Mateo, CA or Provo, UT office, the position follows a hybrid schedule with in-office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
