Role Description Thrive Market is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the strategic vision and execution for our Member Growth & Retention initiatives. Reporting into our Chief Product Officer, you’ll play a key role within our Product Management team, overseeing a portfolio of high-impact product initiatives aimed at: - Improving acquisition - Driving onboarding and engagement - Increasing long-term member retention across our e-commerce and membership experience This role will be central to navigating a critical chapter in our growth journey, addressing opportunities in our paid social performance and charting a path forward through innovation, experimentation, and member-first thinking. You’ll work closely with our executive team, cross-functional stakeholders, and a talented group of PMs, engineers, designers, data scientists, and lifecycle marketers to deliver measurable business outcomes and world-class user experiences. We’re looking for a strategic thinker, customer advocate, and product leader with a strong bias for action, deep experience in growth or retention-focused consumer products, and a passion for mission-driven work. Responsibilities - Lead the product strategy and execution for Thrive Market’s Member Growth & Retention product portfolio, aligning closely with key business KPIs (LTV, CAC, retention rate, etc.) - Partner with Growth Marketing, Member Services, Engineering, and Data Science to identify and prioritize opportunities across converting leads to paying members, onboarding, reactivation flows, referral programs, and more - Own and evolve our experimentation roadmap — from rapid A/B testing to longitudinal LTV experiments — to drive insights that improve funnel conversion, engagement, and retention - Develop and refine our subscription offering, including pricing, value propositions, renewal journeys, and cancel flows, with a focus on customer value and sustainable business outcomes - Translate user insights, data analysis, and business needs into clear product requirements, roadmaps, and compelling stakeholder narratives - Serve as a thought partner to the executive team on how to evolve our digital experience to support our mission of making healthy and sustainable living easy and affordable - Establish product development rituals that ensure focus, alignment, and velocity across cross-functional partners - Ensure continuity and forward momentum in product development during VP-level absences or transitions Qualifications - 8+ years of product management experience - Deep experience with freemium, subscription, or membership-based models, alongside e-commerce - Track record of optimizing top-of-funnel acquisition, activation/onboarding, and retention/engagement - Strong fluency in data — comfortable pulling your own queries, synthesizing analytics, and using both qualitative and quantitative inputs to generate insights on pain points and solutioning as part of a comprehensive product strategy - Demonstrated success in scaling growth and retention programs across web and mobile platforms - Track record of delivering measurable business impact through successfully managing full product lifecycle — from ideation through launch, learning, and iteration - Excellent communicator with the ability to influence up, down, and across the organization - Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Member Services, and Marketing - Able to influence without authority, especially across marketing, lifecycle, and performance/growth teams - Passion for Thrive Market’s mission and a deep empathy for our members Nice to Have - Experience with LLM-powered product features, conversational interfaces, or generative AI applied to commerce - Background in dietary personalization, ingredient intelligence, or health-focused product curation - Familiarity with recommendation system architectures (collaborative filtering, content-based, hybrid approaches) and their product-level trade-offs - Experience at a mission-driven or values-driven consumer brand where the product needed to reflect the brand's point of view, not just optimize for clicks Benefits - Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, life and disability) - Competitive salary (DOE) + equity - 401k Employer Match - 9 Days of Observed Holidays - Flexible Paid Time Off - Subsidized ClassPass Membership with access to fitness classes and wellness and beauty experiences - Ability to work in our beautiful office in Playa Vista - Free Thrive Market membership with exclusive employee discount - Coverage for Life Coaching & Therapy Sessions on our holistic mental health and well-being platform
