Job Description

Creative Director

Rescale

Role Description As Creative Director, you'll lead the entire creative department and build the strategic bridge between Creative, CRO, and Media Buying. You'll ensure every ad is built with conversion data in mind—not just creative intuition. You'll create the feedback loops that turn performance signals into better briefs, stronger concepts, and higher-converting ads. This isn't about reviewing work and giving vague feedback. It's about building a creative machine where strategy, execution, and performance data are one continuous loop. What You'll Do - Lead Creative Strategy - Own the creative strategy across all brands and campaigns - Develop creative frameworks, testing roadmaps, and concept pipelines - Ensure every creative is built with story strength, format fit, and conversion potential—not just polish - Elevate the quality bar beyond typos and surface-level QA - Build the Creative-CRO-Media Buying Loop - Work hand-in-hand with Media Buying and CRO teams daily - Translate performance data (ROAS, CTR, hook rates, CVR) into actionable creative direction - Ensure creative decisions and CRO decisions are driven by the same conversion signals - Build alignment so action plans across all three functions move together—not separately - Lead and Develop the Creative Team - Manage and mentor the creative team (strategists, editors, researchers) - Provide real creative feedback—story, hook, angle, pacing, format—not just error-checking - Build SOPs, feedback frameworks, and quality standards that scale - Run creative reviews and learning sessions that actually improve output - Drive Performance - Own creative performance metrics and report on what's working - Build a system for identifying winning patterns and scaling them - Create feedback loops so learnings from ads flow back into future briefs - Continuously optimize the creative process for speed, quality, and conversion Qualifications - 4+ years of experience in creative strategy, creative direction, or performance creative leadership - Proven experience leading creative teams (not just individual contributor work) - Deep understanding of direct response and performance advertising - Experience working closely with Media Buying and CRO functions—not in a silo - Strong grasp of what makes ads convert: hooks, angles, story structure, pacing, format selection - Data-driven approach—you use performance signals to guide creative decisions - Ability to give clear, actionable creative feedback that elevates work - Experience building creative processes, SOPs, and feedback systems that scale - Strong communicator—you can align multiple teams around a shared vision - Experience in e-commerce, DTC, or high-spend paid media environments - Background in both brand and performance creative - Experience scaling creative output while maintaining quality - You've built the creative-to-performance feedback loop before - UGC, VSL, and short-form video expertise Bonus Points - Background in AI-generated UGC, AI animations, or AI-assisted creative production - Experience as Creative Director at a performance creative agency (Evolve, VidTao, Raindrop, etc.) This Role Is NOT For... - People who only know brand creative but don't understand performance and conversion - Those who give vague feedback like "make it pop" instead of actionable direction - Anyone who works in a silo and doesn't collaborate with Media Buying and CRO - People who only catch typos but can't evaluate story strength or conversion potential - Those who manage tasks but don't lead strategy - Creative leaders who resist using data to inform creative decisions Compensation & Benefits - 💰 Monthly Salary: $5,000 - $8,000/month - Remote-first environment - Work with a team of A-players who actually give a damn - Direct founder access—no layers of bureaucracy - Real ownership of the entire creative function Our Hiring Process - Step 1: Application (You're here!) - Step 2: Initial Interview with CHRO - Step 3: Internal Assessment by Rescale - Step 4: WhatsApp update for next steps - Step 5: Signing of Independent Contractor and NDA - Step 6: Onboarding and Training Total timeline: 1 week from application to offer. P.S. We're not looking for a creative manager who reviews work. We're looking for a creative leader who builds the system that turns data into winning ads. If you've connected Creative, CRO, and Media Buying before—and want to do it again at scale—we should talk. P.P.S. If you're reading this far, you're already more thorough than 90% of applicants. That's exactly who we want.
