Actuarial Associate - Annuity Inforce Management

Role Description Nationwide Financial is seeking a highly technical Actuarial Consultant to join our Annuity Inforce Management team. This role is ideal for an experienced actuary who brings annuity product experience and enjoys a business-facing role. This is an opportunity to support the long-term management of Nationwide’s annuity products in a role that combines hands-on actuarial work with business-facing partnership. The person in this role will help build out our reporting capabilities and continue to modernize our rate setting infrastructure. - Execute annuity rate setting for Fixed, Indexed, RILA, SPIA, and VA general account products. - Collaborate with Business Development partners to effectively balance competitiveness and profitability. - Execute new business profitability analysis on a quarterly basis. - Develop visualization of profitability results and communicate to management and CFO. - Develop visualizations for inforce performance metrics such as policyholder behavior, product feature utilization, and sales demographics. - Support advancement of inforce profitability measurement. - Support modernization of rate setting and profitability processes; automating execution, developing controls, and increasing speed of execution. - Ensure adherence to regulatory standards for managing non-guaranteed elements. - Support infrastructure development for rate setting and profitability analysis for new products. - Execute special projects as needed. Qualifications - Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) - Proficient in Excel - Proficient in SQL - AXIS modeling experience a plus - Programming experience a plus; particularly Python, R, VB.net, and C# - Tableau and Power BI experience a plus - Strong analytical skills - Ability to communicate to non-technical audiences Requirements - This role does not qualify for employer sponsored work authorization. - Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program. - It is our intention to fill this role in Columbus, OH.
