Actuarial Analyst

• Conducts analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate financial outcomes. • Applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in health with a focus on dental plans. • Develops probability tables based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information. • Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. • Occasionally assists with modeling, identifies appropriate data sources, conducts analysis

Job Requirements

  • BS – in a quantitative discipline
  • 0-3 years - actuary in health insurance or health practice of consulting firm
  • At least 1 actuarial exam passed
  • Experience with visualization tools (Power BI)
  • Experience with data extraction tech (SQL)
  • Advanced level of knowledge in research and analytics
  • Advanced level of knowledge with translating analytics into meaningful insights
  • Strong knowledge of DBA languages
  • Strong statistical techniques for analyzing large datasets preferred
  • Strong knowledge/experience with statistical software preferred

Title: AVP, Senior Reserving Actuary Location: New York, Chicago United States Job Description: The position is responsible to support the activities of the SVP, Americas P&C Chief Reserving Actuary on the US entities and Brazil entities and UW perimeters with a focus on the Casualty exposure. The position is also expected to be a key contributor and champion to P&C Reserving department's initiatives. - Qualified actuary (FCAS preferred) with minimum 10 years of relevant non-life insurance work experience in the US market with demonstrated strong expertise in casualty exposures. - Comprehensive understanding of US regulatory requirements, US STAT / GAAP, and familiarity with IFRS17 and Solvency II - International insurance experience is a plus - Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to present complex issues to non-actuaries and to be comfortable and credible in terms of meeting with senior management and the Board(s). - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills - Innovative mindset with ability to drive transformation and adapt to changing environments.
