Role Description We are looking for a Knowledge Architect for our AI-powered learning & operating system. The system is built for the commercial management of professional sports organizations: a platform that supports leagues and clubs with structured, AI-ready knowledge and decision support in areas like sponsorship, merchandizing, and commercial marketing. This is not a purely technical role. It is about structuring the domain knowledge that sits underneath the product: deciding what the system should know, how it is organized and retrieved, and how it stays current as the platform scales across clubs, leagues, and portfolios. You will work closely with our top B2B clients and our internal expert network to: - Capture complex domain knowledge - Structure it for retrieval - Hold the editorial bar that keeps the corpus sharp, trusted, and actually used Qualifications - At least 2 years of experience in information architecture, knowledge engineering, or a comparable role: ontologies, taxonomies, knowledge graphs, and RAG-friendly content structuring - A working understanding of how LLMs consume knowledge: chunking, embeddings, and retrieval quality - Domain literacy in the sports business such as sponsorship, ticketing, commercial operations, or a proven track record of ramping up quickly with subject-matter experts - Strong instincts for governance and data rights: confidentiality tiers, IP ownership, and contributor incentives - Editorial judgment: you can tell signal from noise in expert input and hold a clear quality bar - A completed degree in information science, computer science, linguistics, library and information studies, or a comparable field - Strong communication skills in English; German is a plus - Confident handling of digital tools and remote-work environments Requirements - Own the domain ontologies, tagging schema, and per-sport / per-business-model relevance logic - Govern discovery, extraction (interviews, AI-led interviews, document mining), curation, validation, and retirement - Define sharing tiers and confidentiality rules at club, league, and portfolio level - Build out the shared knowledge corpus and the domain-specific knowledge bases behind each agent - Own review cadences, source provenance, conflict resolution between contributed assets, and the metrics that prove the corpus is improving over time - Partner with engineers and product to design knowledge structures that work for chunking, embeddings, and retrieval Benefits - Foundational role: Shape the knowledge layer of a new AI product from day one - Flexible working: Remote or in our Berlin office, with flexible working hours - Room for your ideas: Your expertise counts. • Participate in client-based discussions regarding requirements and corresponding capabilities. • Complete feasibility and impact analysis on the requirements, to be received by the client. • Develop application architecture and DB changes. • Provide a response to Production Support Tickets, investigate, and provide solutions for any configuration related issues on different application environments. • Perform code review for developers. • Mentor junior team members in the proper application of engagement practices. • Develop features or addressing tickets. • Involved in .Net coding, client-side coding and DB related work. • Train team members on the understanding of current implementation and applications. • Ensure sprint deliverables reach the client with no issues and conduct interviews to identify the right skill set for the projects in the account. • Investigate and provide best possible solutions for any production issues that are reported by the client. • Participate in production release activities, make sure both post-release and pre-release activities for applications are taken care by development teams. • Participate in architecture discussion, identify the gaps in development practices, Cl/CD pipelines. • Propose the solution to fill the gaps to Product Owner, so that it can prioritize in future releases.

You sit within an enterprise solution architecture group, so you also provide oversight to a federated team of solution architects and review their designs and documents for process and strategy compliance, keeping the work aligned without becoming a bottleneck. But the center of gravity is you in the thick of it, owning the toughest solution designs yourself and stepping in when a domain needs reinforcement, a decision is stuck, or a design needs a second set of expert eyes. What we're really after: You're a seasoned solution architect who has worked within large, complex organizations and is technically current enough to design real solutions, not just hand down principles. You adeptly navigate organization politics and facilitate fact-based decisions. Concretely, that looks like: - Personally designing end-to-end solutions: integration patterns, data flows, APIs, security, and the non-functional stuff that makes or breaks a design. - Establishing, but also carrying enterprise standards and strategies into the projects you work on, and keeping designs aligned with them, without needing to own or police the governance machinery. - Ramping up quickly on new business capabilities and processes, quickly filling gaps in your knowledge so you can partner with those business users and design solutions that fit how they actually operate. - Real breadth across application, data, and integration architecture, with genuine depth in data and modern data patterns, comfortable working across cloud and on-prem environments, and the judgment to evaluate vendors and platforms on the merits. - Translating fluently between the executive/business view and engineering reality, and defending a recommendation with facts and trade-offs in a room with either audience. Financial services or other regulated-industry experience is a strong plus. Bonus points (helpful for what's on our plate right now, but not required): - Experience in Insurance and the complex finance processes/data behind actuarial modeling and management/external financial reporting. - Building a cloud-based enterprise analytical data repository or single source of truth for finance: layered/medallion architecture, data lineage, reconciliation across upstream sources. - Modern cloud data platforms, AWS especially. - Data governance execution done right: source-to-target mapping, master/reference data, lineage, and data quality controls in a regulated environment. - A knack for partnering with finance and actuarial folks to build self-service capabilities they'll actually use instead of working around in Excel. - Something with AI. Anything with AI. Useful AI, not "everything is better" or "the world is going to end" AI, but something in the middle. Together with the Technical Designer, Project Manager, and/or Project Architect, the Designer is the day-to-day co-leader of the project, with significant responsibilities in the Concept Design through Design Development phases. They lead the production of design deliverables to convey a clear narrative and conceptual framework to internal and external parties. Position Responsibilities - Contributes to the design direction and innovation(s) and furthers the development of architectural projects through all phases that are consistent with the scope of work and goals of the firm.
