Role Description You will be joining the Publix Platform Architecture team as a Cloud Architect. Your responsibilities include: - Designing large-scale, multi-region, and multi-cloud architectures. - Integrating cloud services to create highly available and resilient cloud solutions. - Addressing information governance and security challenges associated with public clouds. - Thoroughly documenting your work and changes to the cloud environment effectively. Location: Virtual/remote employment for this position in the following states only: FL, GA, AL, TN, SC, NC, VA, KY. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience. - 8+ years of architecture experience. - 8+ years of experience supporting multi-tier web applications. - 5+ years of experience handling workloads in large-scale environments. - 5+ years of experience in design and implementation of cloud workloads in Azure. - Azure Solutions Architect Expert. - Experience with analyzing and defining technical requirements & design specifications. - Experience with cloud native database design with both relational and document-based database systems. - Experience with integrating complex multi-tier applications. - Experience with API design and development. - Experience with application lifecycle tools (Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform, etc.). - Experience with cloud networking and network security, including virtual networks, network security groups, cloud-native firewalls, etc. - Able to demonstrate writing shell scripts (Cloud Shell, Bash, PowerShell, or Python). - Have a sound understanding of standard networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, and advanced load balancing. - Have practical knowledge of application security. - Have recent experience supporting hybrid cloud and multi-cloud configuration. - Have previous experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc. - Recent experience working with database technologies hosted in the cloud such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. - Have recent experience with Azure Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or Cassandra. - Have passed one or more Azure certification exams. - Have recent experience with Azure DevOps or other continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) tools and pipelines. - Have recent experience with big data clustering technologies (Spark, HDInsight, Databricks, etc.). - Have experience in design and implementation of cloud workloads in GCP. - Have the ability to demonstrate recent experience developing software that is deployed to the cloud. Requirements - Demonstrate deep subject matter leadership of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability). - Manage the development and implementation of cloud strategy, develop the architecture governance framework, and define architecture foundations. - Define, implement, and enforce the cloud operating environment, cloud standards, and associated tools/platforms/frameworks. - Contribute to the Publix cloud road map and delivery strategy for cloud, multi-cloud, and hybrid implementations. - Define and enforce Cloud architecture best practices: high availability, resiliency, redundancy, performance optimization, disaster recovery, observability, and data integration patterns. - Recommend cost optimizations and ensure cloud resources are operating as efficiently as possible. - Deep dive into cloud resource configurations and issues, along with partnering with cross functional team members to produce and roll out fixes for long-term solutions. - Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the organization for end-to-end cloud architecture best practices including networking, provisioning, and management. - Develop and publish a library of deployable and documented cloud architecture design patterns based on the organization's application portfolio as a basis for deploying services to the cloud. - Act as the coach and mentor to team members, including mentoring on cloud standards, frameworks, etc. - Lead the definition and development of cloud reference architecture and management systems. - Manage and appropriately escalate delivery roadblocks, risks, issues, and challenges. - Validate the effectiveness and optimization of cloud resources once they go-live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health. - Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack: IaaS, PaaS, services, applications, network, and security. - Identify recurring problems/bottlenecks and build the tools and processes to prevent problems from recurring. - Collaborate with Architecture, Development, Engineering, and Security teams to ensure well-architected cloud solutions. • Participar activamente en el diseño, implementación y operación de soluciones cloud sobre AWS. • Contribuir a proyectos de arquitectura, migración y modernización de infraestructura para clientes enterprise. • Construir y mantener entornos seguros, escalables y automatizados mediante infraestructura como código, contenedores y prácticas DevOps. • Colaborar estrechamente con arquitectos, desarrolladores y equipos multidisciplinarios para asegurar la confiabilidad, eficiencia y evolución continua de las plataformas cloud. • Diseñar, implementar y mantener infraestructura en AWS utilizando servicios como EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch, ELB y Auto Scaling. • Participar en proyectos de migración cloud (Lift & Shift, Replatforming y Re-Architecting) para clientes enterprise. • Desarrollar y administrar infraestructura como código (Terraform y/o AWS CloudFormation), promoviendo entornos reproducibles y controlados. • Implementar y mantener pipelines CI/CD utilizando herramientas como GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline o Jenkins. • Administrar y desplegar soluciones basadas en contenedores utilizando Docker y servicios como ECS y/o EKS. • Desarrollar automatizaciones mediante Python y/o Bash para optimizar tareas operativas y mejorar la eficiencia de los procesos. • Monitorear, optimizar y asegurar la disponibilidad de ambientes productivos mediante herramientas de observabilidad y monitoreo. • Implementar controles y buenas prácticas de seguridad cloud, incluyendo IAM, SCPs, guardrails y gobierno de cuentas AWS. • Colaborar con equipos de desarrollo para impulsar la adopción de prácticas DevOps y automatización de despliegues. • Documentar arquitecturas, procedimientos operativos y estándares técnicos que faciliten la escalabilidad y continuidad de las soluciones. • Participar en estimaciones, definición técnica y mejora continua de plataformas cloud.
