Job Description
Engineering Manager
Runway
• You'll lead and scale our engineering team during a critical growth phase. • This means building a high-performing team, establishing engineering excellence, and shipping products that help finance teams become true strategic partners to their organizations. • Day to day, you'll be hiring exceptional engineers, setting technical direction alongside our founders, unblocking your team, and fostering a culture where people do the best work of their careers. • You'll be hands-on enough to make architectural decisions when needed, while spending most of your time multiplying the impact of others.
Job Requirements
- Demonstrated success building engineering teams at high-growth startups (Series A through growth stage)
- Track record of improving team output—increasing shipping cadence (especially through the use of AI), making incidents rare, and accelerating hiring velocity
- Experience building a culture of high standards where engineers are proud of what they ship
- Strong full-stack engineering background that allows you to be the architectural tie-breaker when needed
- Track record of guiding teams to strong technical outcomes
- Experience with our stack: React/TypeScript + Go
- Data engineering background
- Founder experience (YC or equivalent) with firsthand understanding of building from zero to one
- Fintech, SaaS, or B2B software background
- Passion for making complex financial concepts accessible to non-finance users.
Benefits
