Title: Construction Project Supervisor (Highways) Locations: Vancouver, Kelowna, or Victoria Hybrid Job Description: The opportunity: Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Project Supervisor (Highways) to join our team in either our our Vancouver, Kelowna, or Victoria office. In this role you will be responsible for construction management and supervision, quality management and assurance, contract administration, civil inspection, and construction survey services to clients including the Ministry of Transportation and Transit, BC Hydro, major municipalities, and developers across British Columbia. What we offer: - Flexible/hybrid working arrangements, depending on position - Market competitive salaries, with annual reviews - Salary range of: $100,000 - $140,000 - Matching company pension program, increasing over time - Comprehensive benefits including: - Health/dental/vision coverage - Fitness allowance - Employee and family assistance programs - Mental health supports - Paid time off so that you can recharge including: - Generous paid vacation - Paid office closure over December holiday break - Industry leading paid sick time - Maternity/paternity leave top up program - Ongoing support for your professional development and growth - Active Young Professional group - Formal mentoring programs - Paid professional development hours - Capacity building seminars - Engineer In Training programs - Opportunities to participate in social club activities and events - Company-wide social events - Regular lunch-and-learns - Community volunteer opportunities What you’ll do: - Serve as the Project Supervisor and oversee the management of construction contracts for assigned transportation and infrastructure projects. - Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, environmental, and contractual requirements. - Apply technical expertise in highway construction, inspection practices, grading, paving, and Ministry standard specifications to support successful project delivery - Organize, manage, and supervise day labor construction teams, including hiring workers, equipment, and materials. - Oversee project budgets by estimating, tracking, forecasting costs, and certifying payment quantities. - Conduct and record preconstruction and construction meetings, and prepare regular reports on project progress and expenses. - Collaborate with project managers and clients to resolve construction claims, disputes, and complex issues. - Implement and maintain quality management systems, including control, assurance, and auditing processes. - Lead and mentor field staff and consultants, fostering a cooperative and safety-focused team environment. - Maintain accurate project records, diaries, as-built/red-line drawings, and documentation. - Comply with all relevant safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Does this sound like you? - Bachelor’s degree or Technology diploma in Civil, Structural, Transportation, or Construction Engineering with a minimum of two years of related experience - Extensive experience managing construction contracts, resources, and supervising field staff. - Proven track record of delivering complex highway or transportation infrastructure construction projects. - Strong familiarity with Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTT) Standard Specifications and contract administration procedures. - Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar construction budgets and schedules. - Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills. - Practical knowledge of quality management systems and construction inspection practices. - Solid understanding of construction surveying, quantities, and digital terrain models (Civil 3D / CAiCE considered an asset). - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar desktop productivity tools. - Willing and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, travel across British Columbia, and work away from home as project needs require. - Valid Class 5 Driver's License About Us: At Associated Engineering, were passionate about not only the work we do but the communities we live and work in.
