Quality Automation Engineer
Empower
• Design and development of low-medium complexity automated test scripts. • Execute automated test cases and report results. • Identify, document, and track software defects to resolution using defect tracking tools like JIRA. • Document test cases, test results, and defects clearly and concisely. • Collaborate with the development team to understand application functionality and testing requirements. • Maintain and update existing automated test scripts. Ensure that automated tests are up-to-date with the latest application changes and enhancements. • Follow automation best practices. • Create test designs; utilize best practices and methodologies to determine current and future solutions • Use analytical processes to understand issues and evaluate solutions
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
- 1-2 years Testing experience with 0-1 year in automation testing or equivalent automation training
- Good understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
- Basic understanding of Gherkin test scenarios and feature files
- Understanding of API & UI functional testing.
- Understanding of end-to-end testing approach, and end user requirements
- Familiarity with Java programming language (Core concepts)
- Basic knowledge of automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Karate, JUnit, TestNG).
- Basic Experience with SQL database querying

Role Description TerraPower is seeking to hire highly motivated and forward-thinking professionals who are interested in focusing on advanced nuclear reactor research and development and influencing change within the nuclear power landscape and bringing forward the critical production of medical isotopes. This role is remote or onsite in Everett, WA with travel up to 50% within the continental U.S. The QA Engineer reports directly to the Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement Manager. This position is responsible for performing Quality Assurance activities for TerraPower’s advanced reactor programs. The ideal candidate will have: - QA experience in NRC 10 CFR 50, Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, ASME NQA-1-2015, and Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.28, Revision 5. - Extensive experience with evaluation and qualification of NQA-1 commercial supply chain suppliers. - Experience applying a graded approach to quality in environments ranging from conceptual design to safety-related design and construction supporting PSAR requirements and construction permits. - Experience with industry codes, standards, and guides such as ASME, AWS, AISC, ASTM, EPRI, NEI, ISO, NEC, and IEEE. Qualifications - Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline, business, management, or quality assurance field. - 8 - 10 years’ experience in a nuclear (NRC, DOE) Quality Assurance function regulated environment by the USNRC. - Current certification as NQA-1 Lead Auditor or an NRC vendor inspector or other industry recognized certification or the ability to be certified within one year of hire. - The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly, display respect, and foster teamwork.
