Role Description The Senior Software Project Manager (GIS specifically) is responsible for the successful delivery of projects from handover with the sales team to the delivery team, through project execution stages, culminating in closure and eventual handover to the support team. This includes working with digital grid team leads in assembling a project team and monitoring and controlling the project to ensure quality execution per the contract Scope of Work. - Project Planning and Coordination - Timeline and Resource Management - Budget and Cost Management - Stakeholder Management - Risk Management Project Management Responsibilities: - Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects, GIS and ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) projects with Electrical Utilities. - Manage project scope, budget, timelines throughout the project lifecycle. - Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. - Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage, monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met, and maintain the partner relationship between Schneider Electric and the client. - Responsible for the delivery of complex, multi-phase Digital Grid projects (typically between $5m and $10m). - Maintain a high-level knowledge of business processes, challenges, disruptions in the electric distribution industry, as well as the drivers and concerns around the deployment of Operations Technologies including DMS, SCADA, OMS, EMS. - Manage project execution through all stages of the SE Customer Project Process (Initiate and Setup, Design, Install and Commission and Closure). - Build and manage a cost and invoicing plan, including subcontractor invoices, which ensures positive cash flow and a high probability of achieving project finance KPI targets. - Monitor project costs and track financial performance against budgetary targets. - Engage Schneider Electric Contract Management through all stages of the project for advice on protecting program/project margin while identifying and exploiting opportunities to increase margin. - Document and address stakeholder concerns/inquiries and proactively manage expectations throughout the project. - Identify and resolve conflicts between project team, end client, external vendors and partners. - Document project risks and apply mitigating procedures when required. - Maintain a log of project travel expenses and receipts per Digital Grid PMO processes. - Report to Digital Grid executive leadership on the status and health of the project, its risks, opportunities, as well as overall client satisfaction. Qualifications - Sound knowledge of various project management & agile methods. - Significant understanding of the Utility market. - Process oriented, able to govern against best practice. - Sound knowledge of software project delivery lifecycles. - Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills. - Proficiency in English & ability to work in multicultural environments. - Complex project management experience (7+ years). - 5 years or more experience managing GIS or ADMS software implementation projects. - Knowledge of financial aspects of project management including standard project KPIs. - Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software or Adobe Workfront to plan resources. - Experience with project management software (Microsoft Project). - Remote management experience. - Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. - PMP (Project Management Professional) certification considered an asset. - Travel availability up to 25% of the time (North American Region). - Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contributors to deliver project results according to plan. • Responsible for simultaneously directing the efforts of multiple cross-functional project teams to achieve clearly defined results within the triple constraints of time, budget and specifications for medium and high-complexity projects • Responsible for an average of 3-6 projects as well as low-complexity programs specifically in the IT Supply Chain and Operations area • Responsible for assembling the project team, developing the project work plan, and managing the expectations, deliverables and results of all internal and external project resources • Includes managing outside vendors to ensure they meet contractual deliverables • Responsible for tracking project milestones and making necessary adjustments to the project plan or resources to maintain customer commitments • Communicates project status and risks to all project stakeholders via standardized project status reports and manages the change process for each assigned project.
