Role Description Graham Technologies is seeking a highly qualified Data Engineer / Python & SQL Developer to support the design, development, and deployment of enterprise data engineering and ETL solutions in a mission-focused environment. The successful candidate will possess advanced expertise in Python, SQL, and AWS cloud services, with experience building scalable data pipelines, designing databases, and supporting secure cloud-based data integrations. This role requires strong technical documentation skills and the ability to operate effectively within Agile delivery teams supporting Federal and DoD initiatives. Location: Remote (Preference for Dayton, OH or Washington DC Metro Area) Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows using Python and SQL. - Build and support cloud-based data integration solutions utilizing AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and related AWS services. - Design database schemas and implement data modeling, normalization, optimization, and integrity controls. - Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions. - Develop and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, data flow diagrams, and operational procedures. - Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. - Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, integration, and performance issues. - Conduct ETL testing, code reviews, and quality assurance activities. - Collaborate with architects, analysts, developers, and program leadership to support successful project delivery. Qualifications - 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL Development, or Data Integration. - Advanced experience developing solutions using Python and SQL. - Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and related cloud services. - Experience designing and optimizing relational databases and data models. - Experience working in Agile environments utilizing Jira. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. Qualifications - 1–3 years of experience in a data engineering or analytics engineering role, including internships or academic projects. - Demonstrated success contributing to data modernization or migration initiatives in cloud environments. - Prior experience working with healthcare or other regulated data environments is highly desirable. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field. - Azure Data Engineer Associate or related certification (preferred). - Coursework or certification in AI/ML (preferred but not required). Requirements - Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across Databricks, Azure SQL, and downstream gold-layer models supporting priority projects. - Support development and enhancement of enriched data models, including field-level enrichment logic, recency rules, and provider-level enrichment flags. - Assist in maintaining data logic, including reconciliation between source and target data sources and resolution of duplication and data discrepancies. - Assist in implementing medallion architecture patterns (bronze → gold), ensuring data quality, traceability, and performance at scale. - Support identification and resolution of systemic data quality issues, including null handling, soft deletes, authorization flags, and incorrect organizational mappings. - Support implementation of rules for data in collaboration with product, governance, and engineering stakeholders. - Assist in documenting (Confluence, mapping workbooks) to serve as a single source of truth for enrichment logic and data behavior. - Support collaboration with vendors and partners for vendors providing detailed queries, validation logic, and corrective guidance on upstream data issues. - Collaborate with product owners and engineering teams to ensure data models align with product defined use cases. - Support UAT and release readiness by preparing data, validating counts, and resolving last-mile data defects under tight timelines.
