Vice President for Advancement and External Relations

AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF IRAQ BAGHDAD

Role Description AUIB is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President for Advancement and External Relations to drive its mission of institutional growth, sustainability, and community impact. In this pivotal role, the Vice President will lead fundraising, donor relations, alumni engagement, corporate partnerships, government relations, and strategic stakeholder outreach. Key Responsibilities - Lead major gifts, sponsorships, philanthropic campaigns, and donor engagement initiatives. - Develop partnerships with corporations, foundations, government agencies, and international organizations. - Strengthen alumni relations, volunteer networks, and alumni giving programs. - Represent AUIB and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and community leaders. - Develop and implement long-term advancement plans, policies, and performance measures. Qualifications - Strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities. - Proven fundraising and donor relationship management expertise. - Exceptional communication and presentation skills. - Strong partnership-building and stakeholder engagement abilities. - High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and cultural awareness. Requirements - Required Education: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field. - Years of Relevant Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience. - Specific Skills or Expertise: Fundraising, donor relations, partnership development, government relations, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. - Additional Certifications: Professional fundraising or advancement certifications preferred. - Personal Attributes: Integrity, professionalism, collaboration, strategic mindset, and commitment to AUIB's mission and values.
