Role Description The Enterprise Architect has a strong technical background and ability to work across the enterprise with business and technology to develop solutions to meet the needs of the business within the Enterprise Architecture guidelines. Your job will be to create an overview of current and future business and IT processes to establish and implement changes to the operational environment. Your excellent facilitation skills and exposure to data management and data governance, combined with at least a rudimentary understanding of the technical implementation will ensure success in this role. Responsibilities and Duties - Recommends and participates in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) including design processes, architectural artifact requirements, and architectural best practices. - Leads the extended team in a collaborative manner, while driving to timelines and outputs. - Recommends and participates in the analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans and delivery roadmaps. - Ensures that the EA objectives are consistent with the enterprise’s long-term business objectives, adjusting and refining as necessary. - Recommends and participates in the development of data management strategy, data architecture, and data governance processes. - Recommends and participates in the design and implementation of standards, tools and methodologies, and then leads adoption. - Identifies and recommends areas appropriate for further study and participates in any Proof of Concept projects required. - Takes responsibility for effective communications artifacts to help general understanding of the concepts and their applicability and value. - Effectively collaborates with projects to review the objectives and constraints of each solution across the Medicaid enterprise. - Determines conformance with the EA, SOA, and software engineering patterns. - Recommends and explains the most suitable technical architecture and defines the solution at a high level. - Ensures that technology solutions are properly secured, according to Identity Management and Access Control standards. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline. - 8+ years enterprise architecture experience. - Highly knowledgeable on applicable industry and government standards and frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, ISO standards, FEA, MITA, etc. - Experience with developing architecture models in the Health and Human Services sector, using industry standard tools and notations (e.g SparxEA, ArchiMate). - Desired – Experience in Data Management, Data Architecture, and Data Governance in the context of Health and Human Services. - Desired – A rudimentary understanding of cloud architecture and implementation patterns. - Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts. - Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal). - Ability to collaborate closely with others; ability to prevent or reduce conflict. • Design and architect enterprise-level BI solutions using MicroStrategy. • Develop and maintain MicroStrategy metadata, schemas, cubes, reports, dossiers, and dashboards. • Define BI architecture standards, best practices, and governance processes. • Optimize report performance, SQL generation, caching, and overall platform efficiency. • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects on data warehouse and semantic layer design. • Support enterprise reporting environments, security configurations, and user access management. • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for platform or reporting issues. • Participate in requirement gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders. • Ensure scalability, maintainability, and reliability of BI solutions. • Mentor developers and provide technical leadership to the BI team.
• Create and maintain process documentation and best practices for Data Center technical solutions. • Act as the technical lead for Data Center solutions, serving as a key interface between regional teams and SMA's Headquarters. • Drive standardization and scalability of solution architectures. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and external partners and vendors. • Proactively address integration challenges and regulatory changes. • Support business development by providing deep technical expertise, presentations, and training materials. • Share best practices, technical guidelines, and training materials both regionally and globally. • Evaluate emerging technologies, industry standards, and competitive offerings to maintain technological leadership in the Data Center and its infrastructure. • Drive project and stakeholder management at all levels, ensuring alignment between technical feasibility and commercial success. • Other duties as may be required or assigned.
• Provide consulting leadership and mentorship to internal and external teams, supporting technical delivery and driving timelines for customer-focused outcomes. • Act as a player-coach, promoting continuous improvement and partnering with practice leaders and consulting managers to deliver constructive feedback. • Mentor team members on enterprise engagement best practices. • Serve as Technical Lead on key accounts, ensuring client success and exceeding expectations. • Translate client business needs into effective technical solutions and delegate workstream requirements appropriately. • Drive collaboration across cross-practice teams to deliver high-quality, enterprise-class solutions. • Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and facilitate customer backlog planning. • Support project forecasting and Sprint 0 planning. • Conduct post-project retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities. • Celebrate team successes and promote the impact of delivery engagements.
