Role Description We are seeking Market Access Attorneys to advise our Life Sciences clients. In this role, you will provide strategic legal counsel and support to leading pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical clients on market access, pricing, reimbursement, and government pricing matters. This is an existing vacancy. - Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of market access-related agreements, including PBM, payer, GPO, wholesaler, specialty pharmacy, distribution, rebate, discount, value-based, outcomes-based, consulting, advisory board, master services, and data-sharing agreements. - Providing legal guidance on market access, pricing, reimbursement, and government pricing obligations, including Medicaid Best Price, Average Manufacturer Price (AMP), Average Sales Price (ASP), 340B, and VA/FSS requirements. - Advising on coverage, coding, and reimbursement initiatives in partnership with market access, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), pricing, trade, and channel teams. - Counseling clients on the design, implementation, and operation of patient support programs, co-pay assistance programs, and related arrangements, with particular focus on Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act considerations. - Collaborating with commercial, medical, regulatory, compliance, finance, and market access teams to ensure access-related strategies, communications, and materials comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. - Managing legal and compliance issues related to pharmaceutical pricing, reimbursement, government reporting, and payer contracting activities. - Providing practical, risk-based advice regarding interactions with payers, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), healthcare professionals, and government healthcare programs. - Staying ahead of federal and state regulatory developments, enforcement trends, and industry guidance impacting market access, pricing, reimbursement, and commercial contracting. Qualifications - 5–8 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm and/or in-house legal department with a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or biopharmaceutical company, with significant experience supporting market access, pricing, reimbursement, and/or government pricing matters. - Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidance governing pharmaceutical commercial and market access activities, including FDA regulations, the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA), federal and state Anti-Kickback Statutes, beneficiary inducement rules, OIG guidance and advisory opinions, the False Claims Act, and the PhRMA Code. - Proven track record drafting and negotiating PBM, payer, GPO, wholesaler, rebate, and other market access-related agreements. - Experience advising on advertising and promotion, scientific exchange, patient support programs, and interactions with healthcare professionals and payers. - Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, business-oriented, and risk-based strategies. - Excellent communication, negotiation, technology, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. - Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Requirements - Experience advising on government pricing and reporting requirements, including Medicaid Best Price, AMP, ASP, 340B, and VA/FSS programs. - Familiarity with value-based contracting, outcomes-based agreements, and innovative reimbursement models. - Experience supporting pharmaceutical market access, trade, channel, pricing, and HEOR functions. - Strong understanding of payer, PBM, specialty pharmacy, and distribution channel relationships. - Ability to navigate evolving regulatory and enforcement landscapes while providing practical business solutions in a fast-paced environment. Compensation The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 per year and for non-attorney roles is $71,250-309,750 per year. Role Description The Legal Transcriber/Editor requires a versatile candidate with great attention to detail and excellent organization and communication skills. The ideal candidate must be a positive team-player that can work well under pressure, easily grasp concepts, use discretion and independent judgment, and solve problems in a professional and timely manner. The Legal Transcriber/Editor is primarily responsible for the final stages of transcript creation. • Design and own the qualification criteria that determine which accounts with a defiance balance are eligible for legal escalation. • Monitor the legal escalation pipeline to confirm the right accounts are being worked and the criteria are being applied accurately. • Review and approve all settlement letter content before any mail is sent. • Review and approve the deficiency collection contact script and settlement authority structure before they are used with borrowers. • Own the legal and compliance reporting within the collections KPI package. • Complete FDCPA and UDAAP review of consumer-facing components before launch and provide sign-off. • Build and maintain a state-by-state legal viability map for deficiency collections across the portfolio. • Ensure all deficiency collection approaches across borrower segments are anchored to loan attributes, not internal product or program classification. • Manage bankruptcy filings across the portfolio. • Coordinate responses with compliance on CFPB inquiries, state attorney general matters, and consumer complaints escalated through regulatory channels. • Build and deliver compliance training for post charge-off staff before any live account is worked. • Vet all third-party collection agencies before any account is placed. • Own the ongoing agency compliance program. • Oversee third-party BPO partners working post charge-off accounts. • Lead outside counsel evaluation and selection for the legal escalation pipeline. • Write and maintain all policies and procedures for the post charge-off collections program. • Manage active collections-related litigation in coordination with outside counsel. • Identify process gaps that create legal exposure or leave recovery on the table. • Serve as the legal and compliance resource for daily questions from collection agents, team leads, and directors. • Hire and develop direct reports as program volume increases.
