About the Team The Founders' Lab is Airwallex's elite internal innovation hub. Operating like an agile startup backed by our global network, we partner directly with our CEO and Co-Founder to architect, build, and ship next-generation Fintech AI Innovations and 0-to-1 product lines. We don't build in isolation, nor do we over-engineer for theoretical problems. Our mandate is high-velocity validation: we take raw, ambitious, and ambiguous concepts from the executive suite, build the MVP, and deploy it onto our global financial infrastructure to test with real users. We look for High-Agency Builders. There are no layers of middle management or rigid ticketing queues here. You will hold complete end-to-end technical and product ownership-wearing the hat of a Product Manager to define the what and the why, and acting as a lead engineer to build the how. What You'll Do - Co-Author 0-to-1 Products: Partner directly with the CEO and global leadership to turn raw strategic visions and disruptive AI capabilities into functional, market-ready financial software in weeks, not quarters. - Embody the Product Engineer Mindset: Synthesize business requirements, regulatory realities, and cutting-edge tech. You aren't just writing code to a spec; you are evaluating product scope and user friction to shape the product roadmap. - Execute with Velocity: Bias heavily toward action. Run rapid proofs-of-concept, deploy them to live users to test market fit, and constantly balance rapid feature iteration with structural soundness. - Deliver End-To-End Solutions: While backend-heavy and architecturally sound, you are a generalist at heart. You will do whatever it takes to get a product into the hands of global users-from API design to frontend polish. Minimum Qualifications - 6+ years of software engineering experience, with a deep foundation in backend architecture and a proven ability to confidently flex full-stack when the mission requires it. - Startup or R&D DNA: A track record of personally shipping products from scratch in high-growth startups, corporate innovation labs, or fast-paced greenfield environments. - Sharp Product & Commercial Intuition: You challenge assumptions. You care immensely about user experience and business impact, evaluating technical decisions through a commercial lens. - Pragmatic & Resourceful: You have a strong "get things done" attitude. You don't wait for a perfect blueprint or permission-you find creative pathways around institutional or technical roadblocks. - High Ambiguity Tolerance: You thrive when the path forward is undefined, successfully translating high-level executive visions into clean, maintainable software. Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity or hands-on experience building software that leverages Generative AI, LLMs, or intelligent workflow automation. - Fintech, payments, or experience dealing with compliance and money-movement rails. - Prior experience as a startup founder, founding engineer, or technical lead of a rapid-prototyping team. Role Description We are looking for a great Software Developer with some years of experience as Full Stack Developer working on Backend, Web and Mobile, and anything it takes to delight users and solve problems, to join our growing team in Hamburg or part-remotely. This position offers the opportunity to possibly receive company shares (VSOP).
