Job Description

Software Engineer II

Spreetail

• Design, build, and maintain the backend services that power Spreetail's fulfillment operations — inventory management, order processing, carrier integrations, and exception handling. • Own the reliability and correctness of transactional systems that FC operations depend on every hour of every day. • Lead technical design within your pod — driving architecture decisions, establishing patterns, and holding a high bar in code review. • Identify and address systemic issues: performance bottlenecks, data consistency gaps, fragile integrations. Debug and resolve production issues quickly, with clear communication to stakeholders. • Collaborate with product managers and FC operations teams to translate operational requirements into sound software design. Mentor SE II engineers and help raise the overall engineering quality of the team.

Job Requirements

  • 2-4 years of professional software development experience, with a strong backend focus. Deep proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem — you can design, build, and maintain production services independently and lead others doing the same.
  • Familiarity with downstream ML pipelines (Python, dbt, Dagster) — you won't own them, but you'll work alongside them.
  • SQL Server / PostgreSQL — operational and transactional data at the core of everything this team builds.
  • AI tooling: Claude Code for development workflows.
  • AWS (primary) — EKS, S3, SQS, EventBridge. CI/CD: GitLab pipelines, containerized deployments. Experience with mobile Android.

Benefits

  • We provide the flexibility to take care of yourself. Spreetail operates in a work culture that promotes results and encourages taking time off when needed. In addition to a generous vacation policy, we also offer paid time-off for your wedding week, paid parental leave and support for parents of growing families.
  • We celebrate accomplishments. Each year at Spreetail is a milestone with the opportunity to receive special gifts, swag store credit, or donations to a nonprofit of your choice. We also recognize people pursuing impacts with Spreetail Spotlight Awards.
  • We care about your Health & Wellness. Spreetail works hard to enhance the employee experience through benefit programs and perks that provide meaningful support. We offer affordable medical, dental and vision plans with coast-to-coast coverage. We also provide free telehealth and on-demand mental health resources.
  • We create the opportunity to revolutionize your community. We encourage Spreetailers to give back and make a social impact, and we offer paid time off to do it.
