Role Description As an experienced Producer (5+ years TV Producer experience, ideally 7+ years of TV experience) based in London, you will play a key role in producing and growing Zeteo UK's interviews, podcasts, video output, articles, listicles, social media presence and audience engagement. This is a dynamic, hands-on role in a fast-paced news environment that requires strong editorial judgement, creativity, organisation and initiative. You will be responsible for supporting and producing the Politics Reporter and the Podcast/Interview Presenter and helping to produce guests, develop original content ideas, produce and edit podcasts and videos, support interviews and occasional live productions. As part of a small and ambitious media start-up, you will be expected to work collaboratively across departments, respond quickly to breaking news, and contribute wherever needed to support Zeteo UK's editorial, production and growth objectives. Accuracy, ethics, innovation and audience engagement are central to the role. Responsibilities - Develop and pitch original editorial ideas, topics, guests, segments and content formats. - Research, plan and produce podcast episodes, interviews, explainer videos and other editorial content with the host or politics reporter. - Write or help write interview questions, scripts, segment structures, Substack posts copy, social media copy, newsletter content and promotional materials. - Lead or assist with the end-to-end production process, including scripting, filming, recording, editing and delivery of podcasts, interviews, LIVEs and videos. - Ensure high production standards, including audio quality, editorial accuracy, fact-checking and timely delivery. - Produce, edit and publish content for YouTube, social media platforms, Zeteonews.co.uk and other distribution channels. - Monitor platform performance and audience engagement metrics, using insights to improve future content and distribution strategies. - Liaise with contributors, guests, presenters, freelancers and external partners throughout the production process. - Coordinate or help coordinate logistics including studio bookings, remote recording arrangements, travel, transport and production scheduling. - Liaise with the Office Manager. - Assist guests and presenters with technical preparation, including remote recording set-ups, lighting, audio and video quality. - Support day-to-day production operations and help coordinate workflows across the editorial and production teams. - Source, organise and manage archive materials, stills, graphics and other production assets as required. - Commission and coordinate graphics, visual assets and supporting production materials where necessary. - Respond quickly to developing news stories, producing accurate and engaging content under tight deadlines. - Take ownership of projects where appropriate, exercising leadership, initiative and sound editorial judgement. - Work closely with the CEO, Chief Content Officer and wider team to support the growth and success of Zeteo. - Undertake any other duties reasonably required in connection with the development, production, distribution and promotion of Zeteo UK's content and business activities. Qualifications - Filming and operating professional camera, lighting and audio equipment (ideal but not essential). - Acting as a creative/editorial sounding board for content ideas, interview angles and formats, in addition to pitching original ideas. - Reviewing interview recordings to identify the strongest moments for clips and quotes. - Contributing to social media and audience growth strategies, using performance data and platform insights to help improve reach and engagement (occasionally and not essential). Requirements - Monitor political, social, cultural and current affairs developments, proactively identifying stories, guests, angles and opportunities for original coverage. - Develop and pitch original editorial ideas, stories, guests, segments and content formats. - Identify opportunities for exclusive interviews, investigations, partnerships and original reporting that strengthen Zeteo UK's editorial impact and reputation. - Research, plan and produce interviews, podcast episodes, explainer videos, written features and other editorial content. - Support the Presenter and Politics Reporter in developing coverage, investigations and editorial projects. - Help develop and test new editorial formats, series and audience engagement initiatives across video, audio, written journalism and social media. - Write or assist in writing interview briefs, questions, scripts, segment structures, newsletter content, Substack posts, social copy and promotional materials. - Lead or support the end-to-end production process, including research, scripting, filming, recording, editing, publishing and promotion. - Ensure high editorial and production standards, including accuracy, fact-checking, legal compliance and quality control. - Assist in ensuring content complies with legal, regulatory and editorial standards, including defamation, copyright, privacy and accuracy requirements.
