Job Description
Senior Product Manager – PPA, Energy Trading Platform
Otark GmbH
• Product ownership across three products: You will own and refine our three core products – the Otark Marketplace (PPA platform), Green SPOT (our spot exchange for green power) and 1-Click PPA (the fully automated PPA execution). • Translate the energy domain: You will translate the realities of the energy market – PPA execution, balancing group management, spot and forward trading – into clear product requirements. • Customer discovery with industry professionals: You will conduct in-depth conversations with corporate buyers, direct marketers and traders on equal footing. • Strategy & roadmap: You own your features as a “mini-CEO” from the first idea through domain validation to go‑live – prioritizing based on real market and customer value. • High-efficiency handoff: You work closely with our engineering team and deliver not vague tickets but precise, well-thought-out, domain-validated requirements. Where it’s faster, you build prototypes yourself (see AI workflow).
Job Requirements
- Energy domain expertise (essential): You have solid experience in the energy market and understand how the pieces fit together – PPA structures and execution, balancing group management, spot and/or forward trading.
- Trading & settlement a strong plus: Experience in power trading and trade settlement is a major advantage and will make your application stand out.
- Product DNA: You have previously worked as a Product Manager or Product Owner and have taken products from concept to market.
- Analytical powerhouse: You have extremely quick comprehension and a sharp mind.
- AI as a tool: You are open to working with modern AI tools (e.g., Claude, Code assistants or comparable AI agents) to rapidly validate ideas and build prototypes.
- Basic understanding of web front-ends (HTML/CSS/JS) is a plus – we’ll teach you the rest.
- Languages: Native-level German (required for communication with German customers) and fully fluent English.
- Residence: You currently reside in Germany.
Benefits
- 100% remote: Work flexibly from anywhere in Germany.
- Real impact: Direct influence on the economics and scale-up of solar and wind energy.
- Three products, one lever: You’ll shape product strategy across the marketplace, spot exchange and 1-Click PPA, not just a single feature.
- AI-first workflow: We invest heavily in the best tools on the market to maximize your productivity.
- Radical autonomy: Short decision paths, fast decisions – you build and validate your solutions independently.
- Speed: Experience the fastest idea‑to‑product pipeline in the industry. We’re not looking for someone who only manages tickets; we’re looking for someone who understands the energy market and translates it into great products.
