Role Description Oncology Data Specialist – Abstractor are responsible to complete clinical data abstraction for all reportable & non-reportable primary sites of cancer according to the reporting and timeliness guidelines established by the CoC, SEER, State Registries and other Standard Setters as required. - Maintains Active ODS-C certification. - Meets productivity standards and quality benchmarks while assuring the confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness of all cancer-related health information encountered. - Up-to-date on all current state and national reporting guidelines. - Complies with all Savista/client HIPAA and other privacy requirements and regulations. - Maintains compliance with client’s abstracting policies and procedures. - Participates in training, CEU activities and continuous learning initiatives. Qualifications - Active ODS-C (Oncology Data Specialist – Certified) credential. - Knowledge of latest guidelines from standard setters (CoC, SEER, and NAACCR), and the ability to apply them accurately. - Must be able to meet deadlines and work with time constraints. - Ability to multi-task and be flexible to adjust assignments as priorities change. - Effective communication skills with supervisors and peers and appropriate communication with clients. - Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner with minimal supervision. - Self-starter with the ability to work effectively within the role, independently and with other team members. - Strong attention to detail and willingness to grow technical competencies.
