High School Math Teacher

Role Description The Keystone Live Instruction Teacher is a state certified teacher responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. The teacher must provide live instruction, support, and guidance; manage the learning process; and focus on students’ individual needs. Teachers monitor student progress through Stride’s learning management system and work actively with students, parents, and associated schools to support each student’s educational experience. The Math Teacher is a highly qualified, state certified educator responsible for: - Delivering specific course content in an online environment. - Providing instruction, support, and guidance. - Managing the learning process and focusing on students’ individual needs. - Monitoring student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system. - Working closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance each student’s learning toward established goals. - Occasionally traveling throughout the year to various school functions, such as state testing. THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION THAT WILL LIKELY PAY $17-$20/HOUR. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree AND one (1) year industry experience leading to certification OR equivalent combination of education and experience. - Appropriate subject teaching certification. Requirements - Shared view of the virtual academy’s mission. - Strong content and subject-matter knowledge. - Ability to support and guide adults as well as students. - Excellent knowledge of motivational techniques. - Excellent organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. - Willingness and ability to obtain additional state licensing as required. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web applications. - Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. - Ability to pass required background check. Desired Qualifications - Experience as an online learner. - Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database. - Experience teaching in a virtual setting. Role Description The consultant will report to the Regional Coordination Specialist and will be responsible for the following: - Online gender mainstreaming training: - Prepare the agenda, materials, presentations, etc., informed by the UN Women Gender Mainstreaming Guidance. - Integrate illustrative case studies and linkages to the UN System-Wide Gender Equality Acceleration Platform. - Deliver training via two workstreams for 18 participants each, including a mix of UN Women and other agencies’ personnel. - Each workstream will include nine hours of contact time. - Online reflection session: - Facilitate one online session (approximately one hour) for training participants to reflect on their learning and implementation of new skills. - Summary report: - Provide a brief report recording participants, agenda, key discussion points, and reflections. - Include training materials as an annex to the report.
