Role Description The Comprehensive Access Center Scheduler functions under the direction of the Comprehensive Access Center Scheduling Supervisor/Manager and the Comprehensive Access Center, AVP. The scheduler provides outstanding customer service to customers in a fast-paced busy environment, driving system-wide volume by scheduling appointments via inbound telephone calls. Responsibilities include: - Performing a wide variety of clerical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. - Handling heavy phone volume and providing appropriate telephone etiquette and scripting. - Assisting physician's office staff with scheduling issues in a timely manner. - Maintaining neat attire, hair, and appearance, following the department dress code. - Promoting positive working relationships with co-workers, Team Leads, Supervisors, and Managers. - Orienting new employees and assuring proper documentation of training. - Assisting other areas of Scheduling when needed. - Being flexible with hours to meet department needs. Qualifications - Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required. - Minimum 2 years experience in medical scheduling preferred. - Strong customer service skills, good communication, and organizational skills. - Basic insurance carrier and pre-certification knowledge and computer skills. - Basic typing and data entry experience. - Medical Terminology preferred. Requirements - All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. - The individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude. - This position requires a high level of attention to detail and a low error rate. - Regular, reliable attendance is required.
