Title: Senior Construction Project Manager Location: Saint Louis, MO Department: St. Louis Job Description: ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for a Senior Construction Project Manager to join our Public Sector Central team in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. This position is remote. Frequent travel of 50-75%, including overnight travel dependent on project(s) location is required. The Senior Project Manager coordinates all aspects of project execution, ensuring a smooth transition from the design phase to the installation and on-going service and support phase of the completed project. This includes, but is not limited to, advising, and assisting the Engineer in estimating and managing the account, conferring with engineering personnel on technical information, procuring and managing outside contractors, scheduling project phases and training customers maintenance personnel. The Sr. Project Manager manages all aspects of project finances including change management, revenue projections, customer billings, and quarterly updates. The Senior Project Manager acts as primary point of contact for all internal personnel, external contractors, subcontractors, and customer agents to coordinate all aspects of project installation. Ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and that customers are satisfied with both the installation process and the end result is a primary objective of the Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager will also be responsible for management of other field assigned employees. The essential functions of the position include: - Coordinates with engineering staff to ensure that prompt and accurate estimates and pricing are achieved and consistent with project goals - Develops and maintains ongoing contact with the customer to schedule and coordinate all work performed and to ensure clear and consistent communication about the project s progress, costs, and training - Assists engineers in obtaining quotes from outside mechanical, electrical and construction contractors, and vendors, chooses appropriate contractors and vendors for each project, issues contracts, schedules and manages all contractor and subcontractor work and ensures on time arrival of all project equipment and supplies - Coordinates with ESG Management, Finance and Accounting support groups to ensure project is on track and cost objectives are met - Reviews Project Metrics report with the project accountant that contains contract value, percent of completion, billings, contingency, and margin; flags on report that generate action items include under billings by more than 5% and margin deviation by greater than 3% - Monitors labor, materials, project modifications and work completion and makes changes as necessary to ensure achievement of project objectives within cost and time constraints - Responsible for ensuring compliance with all OSHA, Federal, State and safety regulations as well as all ESG policies and procedures Your background includes: - Bachelor s Degree from an accredited college or university, with a preference for engineering or construction management - A minimum of seven (7) years engineering and construction-related experience managing construction projects - Minimum construction related requirements include: - Exposure to project development - Exposure to working with and directing project teams - Experience in developing schedules - Managing project budgets Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects from development to project closure - Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and project schedules, properly document projects, and work well with customers and achieve customer satisfaction on every job - Demonstrated ability to work with others including customers in a professional and ethical manner Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA, Federal, and State Safety regulations - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions - Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables - Ability to assist employees in understanding project objectives and specifications and seeing the other side of an issue A bonus to have: - Ten (10) years experience engineering and construction-related experience managing construction projects - Project Management Professional (PMP) - Certified Construction Manager (CCM) - Designated Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) What we bring to you: - Professional growth and development programs including tuition reimbursement - Comprehensive health, dental, vision insurance plans and wellness plans for employee and your family - Life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and supplemental benefits - 401(k) Savings Plan - Nine Paid Holidays with three floater holidays - Paid Vacation and Personal/Sick Leave - Paid Parental Leave for the birth, adoption, or placement of a child/children - Highly competitive salaries and incentive structure We want you to know: ESG is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. Role Description Our Superintendents are the “boots on the ground”. They are responsible for ensuring that the project progresses according to plan and Owner specifications, in conjunction with the Project Manager, Architects and Owners. They supervise and coordinate the daily activities of construction workers, contractors, sub-contractors and Assistant Superintendents. Responsibilities - Onsite during all work activities, using experience, research and networking with other Catamount Staff to ensure the job meets or exceeds client expectations. - Maintain communication, from holding weekly sub-contractor meetings, to communicating change orders, schedule, and back charges with the Project Manager, and addressing problematic subcontractors early to improve the desired outcome. - Creation and adherence to a well-planned 3-week schedule, while also ensuring quality with tasks like maintaining a quality deficiency list. - Help the job stay on budget, by effectively managing cost expenditures and maintaining logs. - Champion job-site safety by leading pre-task safety meetings with subcontractors, posting required notices, preparing reports, maintaining MSDS information, and documenting safety warnings. - Documentation in key areas such as descriptive and accurate daily construction reports, T&M issues, RFI’s, and project photography. - Storm Water Prevention plan notification and adherence. - Close-out duties such as project turnover matrix, maintaining as-built documents, developing and completing punch-lists. Qualifications - People and project management skills and abilities. - A safety champion who leads by example. - Refined organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks for self, team, and projects. - Strong communication skills including listening, presenting, interpersonal and written. - Minimum 5 years of related experience or training with a general contractor, renovation/tenant improvement (ground-up helpful), or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. - High School Diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.), or preferably a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. - Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project), and experience with (or ability to learn) Procore, office equipment and Internet Explorer or other similar Internet tools and experience.
