• Advise Plaid’s Head of Data & AI and its Data Governance, Security, and AI foundations teams on legal areas, primarily focusing on privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance laws • Provide solutions-oriented advice on issues related to AI/ML, data privacy, and cybersecurity to other members of the legal team as well as cross functional teams • Monitor privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, and AI governance laws and regulatory trends, developments, and industry best practices • Drive internal training and awareness of Plaid’s privacy/data protection, cybersecurity, data governance, and AI governance obligations • Develop and refine cybersecurity and data privacy policies and procedures to facilitate Plaid's compliance with ever-evolving protection laws

About the team We have a rare opportunity for a qualified lawyer to join our Legal team in New York. We are ideally looking for someone who has a background in commercial law and SaaS licensing agreements, AI and IP experience would be ideal (but not required). We’re currently a small team of three, advising on all areas impacting our rapidly growing business. The role offers a challenging and exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of legal matters, from licensing deals for our proprietary tech platform ‘Kraken’, to investment M&A transactions as we expand our business across the globe, to working on groundbreaking AI capabilities. What you'll do Manage SaaS agreements – Take the lead on negotiating and drafting SaaS contracts to ensure we’re covered and compliant. Oversee partnership agreements – Work closely with our teams to structure and execute strategic partnerships that support our business goals. Handle vendor and software licensing arrangements – Ensure our technology and vendor agreements are solid, protecting the business and fostering positive relationships. Be the legal point person for our teams in USA – Provide expert legal support and guidance to our regional teams, ensuring alignment with local laws and company policies. Provide day-to-day legal advice – Offer practical legal support on a wide range of matters including data protection, competition law, compliance, employment issues, and intellectual property concerns. Support our international expansion – Assist in the legal aspects of setting up businesses in new countries, helping us navigate the complexities of global growth. What you'll need In-house experience – You’ve got the know-how to handle the excitement and hustle of working in-house at a fast-growing global tech company. Commercial law pro – You’re ready to take charge of those software licensing agreements and dive into the legal action. Qualified and ready – You’re a fully qualified lawyer from the U.S. with at least five years post qualification legal experience. • Lead negotiation and drafting of customer MSAs, SOWs, order forms, renewals, amendments, DPAs, and vendor SaaS/service agreements. • Improve the existing contracts playbook by identifying gaps and clarifying fallback positions. • Enhance the contracts function through better people, process, and technology alignment. • Partner with Sales, Security, Finance, and Procurement to balance risk with deal velocity. • Provide guidance and leadership to members of the contracts/legal staff. • Work with outside counsel as needed and help shape the future operating model of the legal/contracts function.

• Serve as the chief legal advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors on all material legal, regulatory, and risk-related matters. • Own enterprise legal risk management for a multi-state healthcare MSO, including identification, assessment, mitigation, and escalation of legal and regulatory risk. • Oversee healthcare regulatory compliance, including Corporate Practice of Medicine (CPOM), Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, state privacy laws, and related federal and state healthcare regulations. • Provide legal leadership on MSO–practice structures, management services agreements, and affiliated entity arrangements to ensure regulatory defensibility and operational clarity. • Lead and oversee the corporate compliance function; the Compliance Officer reports directly into the General Counsel. • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve ARC’s compliance framework, policies, training, monitoring, and audit readiness processes. • Advise leadership on regulatory inquiries, audits, investigations, and corrective action planning. • Provide legal oversight for commercial real estate matters, including leases, amendments, renewals, terminations, landlord negotiations, and build-out risk management. • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of corporate and commercial agreements, including vendor, technology, professional services, and management services agreements. • Oversee corporate governance, including entity formation and maintenance, operating agreements, resolutions, written consents, compliance calendars, and corporate recordkeeping. • Support Board and committee governance, fiduciary guidance, and preparation of Board-level legal and risk materials. • Manage litigation strategy and dispute resolution in coordination with outside counsel and insurers, including oversight of legal spend and case strategy. • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, IT, and Compliance to provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance. • Establish scalable legal templates, playbooks, and decision frameworks to support growth while maintaining compliance and risk discipline.
