Manager Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs

Role Description Reporting to the Senior Director, Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Affairs, you will manage the day‑to‑day activities within a defined Food Safety and Quality Assurance functional area. You will support the implementation and execution of food safety and quality processes and procedures, supervise professional employees, and lead cross‑functional teams to ensure effective execution of quality initiatives across assigned platforms. You will define technical objectives, innovate for continuous food safety and quality improvement, and provide leadership and guidance to your team. - Execute strategic priorities cascaded by senior leadership across assigned facilities and platforms. - Serve as an expert resource for assigned facilities to drive continuous food safety improvement initiatives. - Set goals and supervise direct reports within assigned technical areas of responsibility. - Develop and deliver food safety and quality training programs for assigned facilities. - Promote and reinforce food safety culture best practices at both corporate and facility levels. - Provide mentorship and coaching to quality assurance teams to build bench strength for critical roles. - Conduct food safety and quality audits at internal manufacturing facilities, individually or as part of an audit team. - Apply inspection criteria to assess compliance with internal standards and regulatory and audit requirements. - Collaborate cross‑functionally to advance awareness and education related to food safety and quality. - Gather and analyze data to identify trends and issues impacting product safety and quality. - Provide technical and decision‑making support in managing quality and food safety issues. - Support implementation and maintenance of food safety plans to meet company standards and regulatory requirements. - Design and implement processes and procedures within assigned technical areas. - Participate on cross‑functional teams to ensure effective execution of quality initiatives and supplier process improvements. - Provide technical support to functional partners to ensure regulatory compliance and product safety. - Maintain effective relationships with packaging material suppliers as needed. - Collaborate outside of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance organization to improve efficiency and effectiveness. - Manage and execute against the approved budget for the assigned team. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in food science, biological science, chemical science, or a related field. - 7+ years of experience in the food industry within quality assurance, operations, or a related function. - Previous experience developing and leading professional teams. - Demonstrated leadership experience auditing complex manufacturing facilities. - Experience developing or contributing to auditing tools and methodologies. - Advanced knowledge of food safety and quality regulations and standards, including current good manufacturing practices, Global Food Safety Initiative benchmarked schemes, hazard analysis and critical control points, sanitation standard operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. - Experience applying continuous improvement tools and fundamentals. - Strong technical report‑writing skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proven ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships. - Strong troubleshooting, investigative, and data analysis skills. - Understanding of financial budgets and core business principles. - Willingness to travel up to 75% based on business needs. Physical Requirements - You may be required to walk around the facility, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, or perform repetitive tasks that require hand-eye coordination. - You may be required to lift or carry materials that can vary in weight and size. - This is a manufacturing environment with large, moving equipment. Noise levels can be high, and temperatures may vary. Compensation Pay Range: $109,000-$159,000. The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees. Role Description As a Tax Senior Manager on Avalara's Global Tax team, you will report to the Indirect Tax Director and focus on Avalara's indirect tax compliance function. Your work spans US state and local indirect taxes, Canadian and UK indirect taxes, property taxes, and other non-income tax matters. You will have hands-on responsibility for compliance, tax accounting, audit defense, and collaboration. The Tax Senior Manager can be remote within the United States.
