Role Description To effectively monitor and maintain the bank’s critical technology infrastructure and resolve more complex technical issues, whilst minimising disruption to operations. - Provision of technical support for the service management function to resolve more complex issues for a specific client or group of clients. - Develop the support model and service offering to improve the service to customers and stakeholders. - Execution of preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software and utilisation of monitoring tools/metrics to identify, prevent and address potential issues and ensure optimal performance. - Maintenance of a knowledge base containing detailed documentation of resolved cases for future reference, self-service opportunities and knowledge sharing. - Analysis of system logs, error messages and user reports to identify the root causes of hardware, software and network issues, and providing a resolution to these issues by fixing or replacing faulty hardware components, reinstalling software, or applying configuration changes. - Automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity management, front office specific support and stakeholder management. - Identification and remediation or raising, through appropriate process, of potential service impacting risks and issues. - Proactively assess support activities implementing automations where appropriate to maintain stability and drive efficiency. - Actively tune monitoring tools, thresholds, and alerting to ensure issues are known when they occur. Requirements - Participate in the day-to-day operations of the technology function, working across a range of technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. - Reactivate and pro-active resolution of Incidents, performing Changes, upgrades to existing Windows Server Infrastructure. - Support of Windows Clusters, antivirus, backups, deployment tools and monitoring tools, capacity management. - Provide end to end support in all Major Incidents which has Business impact by working with other required support Teams to recover the services. - Participation in design and innovation of products using the newest technologies. - Provide constant Service Improvements and Automation development. - Implement business driven changes and requests. - Vulnerability Management - Working on monthly Windows Patching on 50K+ Windows servers and ensure compliance. - Service Resilience - Performing DCR activities to ensure services are working as expected at the remote location. - Backup & Recovery - Ensuring that both OS and application data is being backed up in regular intervals without any issues. - Complete problem resolution including: problem management, root cause analysis and implementation of remedies. - Windows Security - Work with CSO (Risk) management team members and understand the risks, impacts and basic troubleshooting in user access related issues. - Provide advice and consultation aimed at minimizing the occurrence and impact of service incidents through process improvement. - Ensure Compliance with all risk and audit requirements. - May telecommute pursuant to company policies.
