The Opportunity Gridline is seeking a VP, Fund Controlling to serve as the departmental head and strategic architect of our fund administration. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be the ultimate authority on the financial integrity, compliance, and operational scale of our entire investment vehicle suite. This is a leadership mandate designed for a seasoned expert who can balance high-level strategic planning with the technical rigor required to oversee complex private market structures. In this role, you will not only manage the day-to-day fund lifecycle - including complex subsequent closes and multi-jurisdictional reporting - but you will also be responsible for building the team and infrastructure that powers our growth. You will lead internal associates and external service providers, driving a tech-first mentality to automate and institutionalize our fund accounting functions. In this role you will... - Lead Fund Finance Strategy: Own the end-to-end financial oversight for all Gridline products, ensuring institutional-grade accuracy across NAV production, tax, and audit work-streams. - Master Complex Fund Mechanics: Act as the final sign-off for complex capital lifecycle events, including management fee structures, waterfall distributions, and sophisticated subsequent close interest equalizations. - Direct Audit & Tax Strategy: Drive the annual audit and tax cycles, managing high-level relationships with external partners to ensure seamless delivery of K-1s and audited financial statements across all vehicles. - Build & Manage Teams: Oversee and mentor the Fund Controlling team to ensure 24/7 operational coverage and efficiency. - Drive Operational Alpha: Partner with Product and Engineering to design and implement proprietary tools that automate fund administration, reducing manual touchpoints and mitigating operational risk. - LPA & Compliance Oversight: Ensure all fund activities strictly adhere to Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs) and regulatory requirements, acting as the primary liaison for legal and compliance matters. You have... - Experience: At least 10 years of deep experience in fund administration/accounting within the alternative investments and/or private markets space (private equity expertise is specifically required). - Technical Mastery: An expert-level and proven track record of managing the entire fund accounting lifecycle across NAV, audit, and tax. - Leadership: Significant experience managing professional staff, including preference for candidates who have managed offshore teams or global service providers. - Education: A CPA and ideally a master's degree in a related field. - Location: Based in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid) or the New York Metro Area (100% Remote). $150,000 - $175,000 a year - Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including specialized skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - This salary range is one component of our total rewards package.
