Role Description As an employee of Boehringer Ingelheim, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development, and delivery of our products to our patients and customers. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for generating sales and market share growth and enhancing profitability with assigned veterinary clinics and customers. This role focuses on managing and expanding existing accounts as well as acquiring new accounts. The position holder accomplishes this through virtual sales calls, proactive communication, and strategic planning. - Identifies and pursues sales opportunities virtually with accounts. - Develops and maintains a pipeline of prospective accounts. - Meets sales objectives and supports attainment of business unit performance objectives. - Completes objectives including achieving sales plan while operating within specified expense budget. - Develops an excellent knowledge base of all assigned clinics, including the products they stock, their business objectives, their decision-making processes, the key staff members, and technology footprint. - Addresses customer inquiries, resolves issues, and provides appropriate solutions to meet their needs. - Tracks and analyzes account performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve sales outcomes. - Identifies key clinic team members and builds relationships with decision-makers and staff. - Conducts regular virtual calls with customers to nurture relationships and identify additional sales opportunities. - Organizes, participates, and leads virtual events, webinars, and meetings to promote Boehringer's products and services. - Keeps all business plans up to date on an ongoing basis, sharing its content with appropriate Pet and cross-functional team members. - Analyzes account information to optimize customer calls and create annual business plan for execution. - Executes business plan that incorporates sales strategies and tactics to achieve individual and team sales goals. - Monitors market conditions and competitive activities for changes that impact the business and adjusts business plan and sales strategies appropriately. - Utilizes highly effective selling skills to convince customers to buy Boehringer products. - Maintains and utilizes expert product knowledge and highly effective selling skills to influence customers to support the use of Boehringer promoted products. - Executes brand strategies to ensure a consistent company sales and marketing message. - Uses appropriate Boehringer sales training techniques to facilitate the sale. - Utilizes CRM tools to create pre-call plans. - Keeps current account records concerning activities; communicates timely, accurately, and meaningfully with Management. - Utilizes CRM tool and supporting analysis to plan activity, report, monitor samples, and maintain customer records. - Responsible for development of market, customer, and industry knowledge along with further development of technical product knowledge. - Ensures effective utilization and management of internal and external resources. - Performs customer/consumer training meetings and supports convention and professional association business building opportunities. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree preferred. - Minimum of two to five (2-5) years of relevant sales experience in a competitive selling market in an Inside Sales environment. - Animal Health or related industry experience preferred. - Must demonstrate an aptitude and desire to sell and gain market share. - Ability to work with general supervision in a matrix team environment. - General knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. - Experience presenting to various size audiences. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills (verbal and written). - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Strong learning agility. - Proficiency in various business software applications. - Ability to travel occasionally. Requirements - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. - Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required). - Must be 18 years of age or older.
