Senior Analyst, Investment Accounting

• Responsible for accounting and presentation of investments according to GAAP, IFRS and statutory standards. • Responsible for accurate accounting in the sub-ledger system. • Reads, understands, questions new guidance and policy papers from Internal Technical Accounting Group and/or Management. • Implements accounting guidance and policy and assists with implementation of new or updates to guidance/policy. • Responsible for accurate general ledger presentation of accounting for investments. • Understands and supports the accurate presentation of derivatives on the financial statements. • Prepare monthly reconciliations in Blackline, including creating support for reconciling items. • Responsible for responding to and assisting with audits on investments includes financial audits, regulatory audits, internal audits etc. • Participate/assist with new system implementations and testing new investment system releases.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • 4-6 years of related accounting experience; Investment experience preferred
  • CPA and / or MBA preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Strong accounting theory skills, research skills and problem solving skills
  • Strong conceptual skill in data movement, moderate IT skills

The Underwriter’s primary focus will be on growing and sustaining a profitable book of business through retail and wholesale insurance brokers in the assigned region, though business may be accepted from brokers nationwide. Accounts will range from mid-market to large and highly complex risks. Responsibilities: - Achieving new business and renewal retention goals. - With guidance from manager and/or senior underwriter, establishes relationships with a focus on key brokers. Market environmental division products and acquire submissions through insurance brokers; develop and manage close broker relationships. - Underwrite new and renewal policies within assumed underwriting authority including negotiating insurance policy terms and conditions.
