Client - Leads client interviews with technical, engineering, finance, and tax personnel to gather information relevant to incentive qualification. - Serves as a primary point of contact for client workstreams, ensuring timely, clear communication and outstanding client service. - Responds to client requests and manages expectations throughout the engagement cycle. - Participates in client meetings to present findings, methodologies, and tax positions. - Develops and supports client proposals, planning strategies, and deliverable presentations. - Collaborates with Federal Income Tax, International Tax, and other Ryan practice groups to support integrated client solutions. Value - Leads the gathering, organization, and analysis of large volumes of financial, technical, engineering, and operational data; creates or reviews complex calculation models and databases. - Performs and reviews tax law research, technical writing, and documentation supporting tax positions, including incentive qualification under applicable Internal Revenue Code sections (e.g., Sections 41, 174). - Analyzes expenses and activities for qualification under a variety of tax incentive programs, including R&D credits and other Federal income tax planning projects. - Supports and may lead audit defense activities, including responding to IRS and state inquiries, preparing documentation packages, and assisting managers with strategy. - Prepares and reviews memorandums, interview reports, tax incentive calculations, and other project deliverables prior to manager review. - Performs other duties as assigned.
