Director, Multilingual Learners

• Oversee the development, improvement, and execution of K–12 MLL instructional materials reviews in partnership with content-area review teams • Manage and coach MLL Leads, providing clear expectations, professional growth, and performance feedback • Ensure that all EdReports reviews incorporate a calibrated MLL lens aligned to evidence-based practices and grade-level access • Partner closely with the EdReports Development team to support grant writing, funder cultivation, and ongoing funder engagement, contributing MLL expertise to strengthen funding strategy and sustain the growth of MLL reviews • Lead the development, refinement, and/or piloting of new or revised tools in partnership with the Product (RDI) team, serving as subject matter expert and making decisions related to resource and strategic management • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between MLL and content review teams to ensure accuracy, alignment, and consensus in published reports • Manage MLL-related budgets, consultant networks, and grant-aligned workstreams in alignment with organizational priorities • Lead publisher engagement related to MLL reviews and findings, supporting understanding of EdReports’ criteria and advancing improvements in the curriculum marketplace • Represent EdReports in national and virtual field engagement opportunities, partnerships, and collaborative initiatives related to multilingual learner support • Own and drive the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for MLL reviews including integrating, maintaining, and improving a multilingual learner (MLL) lens across all K–12 EdReports review systems in alignment with organizational priorities, research, and policy developments

Job Requirements

  • Passion for EdReports’ mission and vision, our core values, and our commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity;
  • A commitment to uphold EdReports’ organizational norms and values;
  • 8+ years of experience in K–12 education, state departments of education, and/or nonprofit instructional leadership, with significant focus on multilingual learners;
  • 3+ years supervising teams, with preference for experience leading multi-layered teams in a start-up, nonprofit, or growing environment;
  • Deep expertise in second language acquisition theory and research;
  • Strong knowledge of biliteracy frameworks, English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards, and the state policy landscape impacting multilingual learners;
  • Demonstrated experience supporting grade-level access for multilingual learners within standards-aligned instructional materials;
  • Proven ability to design or refine tools, systems, or processes grounded in research and evidence;
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build alignment across diverse stakeholders;
  • Strategic and project management expertise, including experience managing budgets and consultant networks;
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality work;
  • Bachelor’s degree (in education, linguistics, or a related field) or equivalent experience;
  • Residency in and authorization to work in the United States.

Role Description At Fifty Thousand Feet, the Director of Product Strategy is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and delivery of innovative digital products and customer experiences for FTF and its clients.
