Business Analyst - Utility Billing & Customer Service Systems

Role Description We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with deep expertise in Utility Billing and Customer Service Systems (CSS) to support enterprise-level initiatives within a utility services environment. This role requires strong SDLC knowledge, stakeholder management expertise, and the ability to bridge business and technical teams while driving requirements, testing, and process improvement activities. Location: Remote Duration: 9 months Key Responsibilities: - Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for utility billing and CSS-related initiatives. - Lead requirement workshops and collaborate with stakeholders across business and technical teams. - Perform impact analysis and gap analysis to identify risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities. - Map business processes, workflows, and use cases related to utility billing, finance, and service order management. - Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle. - Partner with development teams, QA teams, and vendors to ensure successful solution delivery. - Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, defect tracking, and validation activities. - Prepare project metrics, testing reports, and status updates across all project phases. - Serve as a liaison between lines of business and technical teams to ensure alignment and effective communication. Qualifications - 10+ years of Business Analyst experience. - Strong expertise in Utility Billing Systems and Customer Service Systems (CSS). - Experience with SDLC methodologies and Application Development Management (ADM). - Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and process mapping skills. - Hands-on experience with JIRA, Xray, DBeaver, and SQL. - Excellent impact analysis and gap analysis capabilities. - Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation experience. - Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills. - Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment. Requirements - Experience supporting enterprise utility operations and billing transformations. - Familiarity with finance, customer service, and service order management workflows. - Experience collaborating with technical teams and third-party vendors. Education - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. - Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. - Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Benefits - The expected base salary for this position ranges from $45.00 to $60.00/hour. - Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. - In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
