Senior Business Analyst

Role Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to work on several major initiatives performing a critical role in working with stakeholders across the business to deliver strategic change; working to define, design and support the continued implementation of product improvements that will deliver business value. You will be an experienced technical BA with knowledge of agile ways of working. You’ll be focused on the maximisation of benefit and the elimination of waste as we deliver new or improved system functionality. You’ll strive to capture clear business requirements and stories supporting Product Owners and SME’s to clarify true business needs and evaluate them against potential business value. You will lead on the discovery and inception phase of our projects, supporting the wider business with maturity of solid business cases by defining the opportunities for change, clear modelling for target operating states and solid business benefit cases. Working under the BA Analysis Lead, you’ll be responsible for continuously improving our BA practice, with accountability for the delivery of quality analysis artefacts, driving standards, improvements to ways of working, adoption of Agile BA principles and learnings as a community. As part of your role, you’ll be empowered to drive initiative sharing across the product teams to greater align opportunities and help define future roadmaps and outcomes. The role forms part of the Digital Transformation team. This team will add value developing, supporting and improving all stages of the project lifecycle aligned with the Key Responsibilities below. Qualifications - Minimum of 5 years experience in a Senior BA role - Highly Effective Communicator, able to communicate complex ideas clearly - Proven ability to translate between business and technical perspectives - Strong Stakeholder Management skills, with experience of working with Senior & Executive Level Leaders - Hands-on experience working in agile product teams - Skilled at translating business needs into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria Requirements - Work with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to identify and shape business opportunities. - Preparation of supporting artefacts and collateral, including Requirements specifications, wire frames, use cases, process maps and business cases with help of sponsors. - Gathering, reviewing and analysis of industry/ organization data required for business analysis. - Contribute to the definition of innovative solutions. Assess different options, perform cost benefit analysis with sponsors to improve efficiency and reduce cost. - Active in the production of systems that deliver maximum business benefit. - Analysis of existing software application and create functional document. - Mentor less experienced members of the BA team. Share knowledge with others where appropriate. - Report process improvement, improving ways of working, and introducing new tools and techniques. - Prepare and present presentations/material/training to internal/external stakeholders. - Reports to Sr Project Manager/Business lead for project specific status. - Work with Practice lead to define BA Process artefacts, suggest process improvements, mentor junior business analyst. Introduce new tools and techniques. - Knowledge of Scrum, Kanban or other appropriate Agile methodology and demonstrate strong agile experience capturing accurate features and stories. - Assure the existence, quality, accuracy and integrity of all business analysis artefacts in templates/samples – including requirements documents, process models, gap analysis assessments. - Support Vendor and Commercial, Enterprise Architecture and product delivery teams in providing requirements and insight/information to develop Business Cases.
