• Architect scalable and secure solutions using Databricks architecture best practices • Develop and implement effective project management strategies using tools such as Jira and Git • Collaborate with product and design teams to ensure delivery of solutions aligned with customer expectations and business objectives • Identify and resolve complex technical issues while maintaining an agile, collaborative development environment • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams in the development of data products, ensuring quality, scalability, and on-time delivery

Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Databricks architecture
  • Proven experience integrating and implementing data engineering solutions
  • Experience with Jira and Git for version control and project management
  • Strong understanding of security and governance best practices in Databricks, including Unity Catalog
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redis

Role Description The Intermediate Software Developer is a mid-level role responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software applications with moderate supervision. This role involves contributing to design discussions, mentoring junior developers, and taking ownership of specific features or modules. This role will be working on the Race Roster product. The successful candidate for this role can be either: - A remote employee (working 100% remotely from a designated location within Canada) - A hybrid employee (flexibility to work in the office or from home at a location within 75 km from the London, ON office) - An in-office employee at our London, ON office Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, efficient, and scalable frontend and backend code. - Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability. Proactively identify and resolve bugs. - Participate in design discussions and contribute to the architecture of software systems. - Provide guidance and support to junior developers, helping them grow their technical skills. - Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards. - Collaborate with other developers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software. - Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the application. - Proactively identify and suggest improvements to reduce technical debt. - Actively participate in and contribute to Agile ceremonies. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 3+ years of experience in software development. - Proficiency in multiple programming languages and technologies. - Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. - Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies. - Experience with database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL). - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. - Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
