Role Description As a Senior Network Engineer, your work at Tegria will focus on the design, implementation, and support of the network that supports Tegria’s Cloud Hosting business. You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of LAN/MAN/WAN and data networks and participate in network design discussions. An effective Senior Network Engineer will help the organization on a whole achieve success through: - Living our Tegria values: Respect Every Person, Act with Integrity, Strive for Better, Embrace Change, Deliver as a Team Technical: - Install and maintain data center and WAN network infrastructure in support of cloud hosting business. - Participate in design discussions/decisions of data center and WAN network infrastructure in support of cloud hosting business. - Install and maintain campus network infrastructure for hospital customers. - Participate in design discussions/decisions of campus network infrastructure for hospital customers. - Coordinate and execute maintenance of network infrastructure that includes routers, switches, firewalls, etc. - Design and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for network infrastructure. - Create and audit network-level security protocols (firewall and router-based ACLs, advanced threat protection, etc.) within the framework of corporate security design standards. - Create and maintain documentation of network information, procedures, and conventions. - Use change management processes to communicate and successfully execute network changes. - Participate in the change management review process. - Plan, communicate, and execute maintenance windows and downtimes for network infrastructure with moderate impact to service availability. - Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate network issues. Issue Management and Support: - Participate in handling ticket queue. - Participate in after hours on-call rotation. General: - Guide less experienced members of the team. - Contribute to team and organizational objectives. - Keep current with knowledge and understanding of network and security best practices, especially relating to data center and cloud service provider. - Effectively use communication, decision-making, and escalation pathways. - Clearly and efficiently communicate with a broad range of technical abilities. - Adhere to departmental best practices and guidelines. - Perform other generally related duties as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred). - CCNP or equivalent demonstrated experience. - CCIE or equivalent demonstrated experience (preferred). - 4+ years of hands-on professional IT network engineering experience to include: - Networks focused on providing cloud services. - Developing networking solutions, including requirements gathering, architecture design, testing, implementation, documentation, and operational support. - Advanced experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools (e.g., Solarwinds, syslog, Wireshark, etc.). - Designing, configuring, and maintaining L2 and L3 networks at an intermediate level. - Firewall policy design and administration at an intermediate level. - Site-to-site VPN configuration and troubleshooting. - Additional preferred experience: - Advanced experience designing and implementing advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, MP-BGP). - EVPN/VXLAN and spine/leaf architecture in a production environment. - BGP traffic engineering in a production environment. - Designing and administering data center networks. - Automation tools and coding languages (Ansible, Python, etc.) in a production environment. - VMware vCenter. - Leading the design and implementation of strategic and technical projects. - Juniper hardware (MX, EX, and QFX series in particular) at a JNCIS level (certification or equivalent demonstrated experience). - Extensive experience with Fortinet firewalls (physical and virtual). - SD-WAN in a production environment. - Healthcare IT/customers. - Knowledge of SD-WAN maintenance. - Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model. - Knowledge of dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.) at an intermediate level. - Knowledge with EVPN/VXLAN and spine/leaf architecture (preferred). Requirements - W2 project-based consultants will be expected to provide a computing device that adheres to industry standards and security best practices to use in satisfying the Project Services on behalf of Tegria.
