• Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Product, Risk) to resolve customer issues and ensure a seamless customer experience. • Assist in customer onboarding, conducting business reviews, and improving operational processes under the guidance of the Business Ops Manager. • Conduct market research and analyze data to inform strategic decisions and process improvements. • Support the optimization of operational workflows to enable scalable growth. • Identify challenges and propose actionable solutions to improve customer satisfaction, retention, and adoption. • Build foundational skills in analysis, communication, and project coordination.

Job Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor or Master's in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Ideally, you have already gained experience in operations, customer service, or a related area.
  • You have excellent English language skills
  • You possess exceptional analytical skills and have experience with data analysis tools
  • You are available to work for 6 months, as a full-time intern (40h/week)
  • You are analytical and enjoy structuring abstract problems into actionable recommendations
  • You are a fast learner and work well within a fast-paced work environment
  • You actively help yourself (and others) to be successful
  • You give and receive open, direct, and timely feedback

Role Description Responsible for Operations functions involving new and in-force Products. Maintains a high degree of initiative and an in-depth knowledge of products, operations and the Symetra organization. Works independently on day-to-day activities, documentation of new and existing processes, and possesses the ability to lead a project and/or remediation to successful completion. What you will do: - Creation, analyzation and maintenance of procedures and processes, identifies and implements ideas for improved efficiency. - Lead and facilitate operations based projects that will focus on system changes, process improvements, remediations, product enhancements and launches, legal and compliance updates, and other core operational functions. - System support and testing, responsible for User Acceptance Testing for new and existing system enhancements for your functional area and product line. - Provide technical training support and daily production support as needed for both internal and external teams. - Operational duties include but are not limited to generation and analysis of contracts and/or agreements, reporting and metrics, analytics, and auditing in support of measuring group operations productivity and effectiveness and in support of internal business partners, including but not limited to Finance, Sales, Compliance, Law, Business Analysts, and other internal business partners. Qualifications - 2-5 years of cumulative, relevant experience. - College degree or equivalent work experience preferred. - Strong analytical mindset with an interest in claims operations and problem-solving. - Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis). - Experience with data analysis tools such as Python or R (preferred, not required depending on role level). - Familiarity with tools such as Smartsheet or similar workflow/project tracking platforms. - Ability to analyze claims data and identify trends, anomalies, and cost drivers. - Problem-solving mindset with the ability to recommend actionable solutions. - Focus on process improvement and operational efficiency. - Strong communication skills to translate data insights into business decisions.
