Job Description

Staff Product Designer

Visual Supply - VSCO

Title: Staff Product Designer Location: San Francisco, California Job Description: About VSCO VSCO (pronounced vis–co) is a platform that equips photographers with the tools, community, and exposure they need to expand creatively and professionally. VSCO maintains a rich and authentic creative environment that serves photographers at all levels – preserving a home for creative opportunity, inspiration, and connection. Our mission is to champion photographers so they can make it. We empower photographers to connect with other creatives and businesses with our suite of creative tools that spans from mobile to desktop and across our global community. We are looking for people who are driven and demonstrate initiative in taking our company mission to the next level. Employees here have the opportunity to make a big impact, and believe that when we build together, we achieve stronger outcomes than we could alone. Our values are critical pillars to our team culture and shape the way we hire. Read more about what you can expect when working at VSCO on our Careers Page. About The Role We're looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our design team and lead high-impact design initiatives across our portfolio. You'll own products end-to-end — from strategy and problem framing through interaction design, visual craft, and delivery. This role will be responsible for designing our next generation of photography business management tools and the AI frameworks that drive them. This is a product-defining role where you'll be a primary design voice, working closely with product, engineering, and data to shape strategy, define what gets built, and drive measurable outcomes. At VSCO, our product, design, and engineering squads work closely and move fast because we've embraced AI-first processes across the team. Our team uses AI-assisted tools like Cursor as a core part of how we design, prototype, and ship. We're looking for someone with hands-on experience using these tools and we're looking for someone comfortable designing within this workflow — where rapid ideation, quick iteration, and early testing are core to how we ship while still holding a high bar for craft. The Day to Day - Own Workspace end-to-end, from strategy and problem framing through activation loop design, upgrade experience, and paid product delivery. - Define the AI Agent experience: interaction model, agent behaviors, escalation logic, tone, and how conversation hands off to UI. - Work with your squad (PM, design, and engineering) to shape product direction, drive alignment on what gets built, and push back on platform limitations with clear rationale. - Communicate design direction to senior leadership and drive alignment across functions. - Use AI-assisted tools (Cursor, Claude, v0) for speed and exploration, return to Figma for craft refinement and system alignment, and ensure the quality of what ships reflects a high standard. - Contribute to VUI, ensuring Workspace and AI agent components are well-structured and token-compliant. - Mentor other designers on interaction principles, systems thinking, and AI-assisted workflows. - Qualifications - 8+ years of product design experience, including 0 to 1 work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments - High AI fluency and a proven track record using AI-assisted design and prototyping tools (Cursor, Claude, v0) as an active part of your workflow - Experience designing AI-powered or agent-driven product experiences with a clear point of view on trust, transparency, and user control - Exceptional interaction and visual design skills, with a high bar for craft at every stage of delivery - Strong portfolio showing strategic product thinking alongside polished, shipped work across mobile and web - Experience designing business tools, CRM-adjacent products, or workflow-driven experiences - Strong systems thinking: you design scalable patterns and think about how decisions ripple across surfaces - Track record of influencing product roadmap and tying design decisions to business outcomes - Experience working within and contributing to a design system - Job Perks - Hybrid work with an office in San Francisco, CA - Regular in-person events events to connect and collaborate - Competitive salary & equity - Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and families - Flexible Time Off - Company-paid parental, medical and caregiver leave - Other perks including mental health resources and tech reimbursements - Compensation The base salary for this position will vary based on several factors, such as relevant experience, location and your approved internal leveling assessed during the interview process. The base salary range for this role is $220,000 - $235,000. Salary is one component of our total compensation package. This position also qualifies for equity (i.e. stock options) and is eligible for discretionary bonuses based on performance. The benefits available for this position include flexible time off, a 401K retirement plan, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, short and long term disability), and 11 paid holidays. We also provide paid sick time as required by state and local law. Additional benefits and perks contained in our standard employee benefits package are also offered for this position. Please note: The application window for this role will be open until at least 6/29/2026. This opportunity will remain online based on business needs which may be before or after the specified date. As part of our hiring process, we conduct pre-employment background checks in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of this background check, which includes state and federal criminal records checks, sex offender registry searches, and other relevant checks as permitted by law. Be careful of fraudulent job posts. If you receive outreach from someone claiming to work for VSCO, please verify they are communicating through the proper channels (vsco.co email domain or through Greenhouse). Note that VSCO will never ask for financial information or sensitive personal information during the application process.
